“Have been looking for a pan de chicharron (Peru’s national breakfast sandwich) and a tamal and was completely take back to Lima. The pork was so tender and the bread was fresh and delicious. They also use mote aka hamony for their tamales which was so delicious and authentic. Service was amazing. Highly recommend!!!“

“Food was great. I tried the leche de tigre, lomo con tallarines a la huacainna, chaufa de pollo, anticicho, and it was all delicious. Good serving size.

We went on a Saturday and there was live music. The singer was very talented.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was quick, too. I had a Carne Asada sandwich and the braised beef was delicious and it was a good portion. The sauces and slaw were a good addition- a hint of spice and crunch. I got the “chito” size and a can of soda for $15. I would come back to try more of the menu, since the beef was really tasty!“

The daily lunch specials are absolutely incredible — generous portions, great prices, and something delicious every time. The lomo dish was one of the best I’ve had: perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor.

“The music was very load and playing Rihanna. I don’t have a problem with her at all but it’s a Peruvian restaurant and was July 28th Peruvian Independence Day. I was expecting maybe some folklore something Peruvian. I asked the waitress to please lower the volume and she did but only a bit. I thanked her and at least we were able to conversarte. I asked for a big bottle Inca kola be side I saw they had some but I was told they can only serve small cans to the table. I think the place should offer the big bottles be side I had to arder like six cans and it’s bad for the environment.
None of these things are the waitresses fault. These are the owners rules.

“My wife and I decided to stop by there today for our 1st time ever and try their Breakfast. The place is very cozy, clean and very nice looking inside. The owner was very friendly and is true to his heritage. I had the Lomo al jugo con pan- so delicious with amazing flavor. My wife had un tamal de pollo- nice size portion and delicious. “I can't believe I have missed this place. Every-time I go to Forrest avenue I walk past by it and never thought of going in until day before yesterday.

First time trying Peruvian food & it was so good . I was gonna have a test done & I can only eat soup. So that's what I was trying to find in that area when I get curious and go in. I am so glad I did.

I tried their shrimp soup . It was a big bowl, for that price I appreciate that bowl of hot soup. Yummy ! And great thing is they don't serve pork , so I don't have to be extra careful while eating here. Lots of seafood & fish items to try from. I also loved my freshly made mango and pineapple smoothie. Yum

I had the chance to talk with the owner & she was wonderful. I felt like I was talking to my bestie. I will be definitely coming back .

“Absolutely incredible experience! The food was fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor. Every dish had that perfect balance of seasoning that Peruvian cuisine is known for. The ceviche was bright and delicious, the lomo saltado was cooked perfectly, and the sauces were out of this world.

The service was fast, warm, and genuinely welcoming — you can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. The restaurant itself was clean, stylish, and had a great atmosphere.

Overall, one of the best Peruvian meals I’ve ever had. Highly recommended, and definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!“

“I was in town to visit to see cats at Rahway Kitty Hall. This restaurant is right next store. I stopped into get something to eat. I was impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. My Spanish is not so great, but the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The food I had was very good. I am interested in people from other cultures and their food. I will surely go there again and try another dish.“

“Manager was awesome! I ordered the Lomo and it was 22.00, I thought it would be a small serving, and then I saw this platter with ton of lomo on it! I have big hands so that goes to show much food there was and the Onions were delish with their green sauce. I ate for two days on it and of course the Inca Kola is a classic, Best soda around.“

“This is my fourth time here I always stop by for lunch special ($12.00) today they got Chicken Soup to start with delicious. As a main course I chose the lo Lomo saltado which in my opinion was a let down because Lomo Saltado main ingredients is tomato + onion as a baseline however, in my plate I got one small piece of tomato which made the flavor difference than what it supposed to be.
Also it was loaded with potatoes which in turn made it dry. In my opinion it should come with a bit more juice because of the potatoes plus rice.
It was a let down because so far I like the food here always fresh and like mom daily cooking.
Don’t let the quality suffer because this hole in the wall so far its been good.
The place looks clean and the bathroom was ok.
Also I will appreciate and I guess all Peruvians eating at this restaurant to serve Ají Huacatay with lunch.“
