“Luchitas Bakery – A Peruvian Delight with Great Flavor and Quality

I was looking for a cake for a special occasion and came across Luchitas Bakery online, so I decided to give it a try. The service was good from the start, which is always a positive sign. To test the quality first, I ordered a few desserts.

We tried a lemon pie that was decent—not extraordinary but pleasant. The Black Forest cake was definitely the highlight—very tasty with a great balance of flavors. We also had a tres leches cake that wasn’t too sweet, just how I like it, and it was really good.

After these tastings, I decided to order a small cake for $60. The prices are a bit higher compared to other Peruvian bakeries, so we initially thought this would be a one-time option.

However, when I went to pick up the cake, I was pleasantly surprised. Although it looked small in size, the cake’s height was impressive, and it was beautifully decorated. Once I tasted it, I confirmed it was worth every penny—it was truly delicious.

If you don’t mind spending a little extra for a great-tasting, well-presented cake, I would definitely recommend giving Luchitas Bakery“

“This place has hands down some of the best Peruvian food in NJ. So far everything I’ve tried has been carefully crafted and tastes absolutely amazing. They’ve recently rolled out a new lucuma dessert with marshmallow and chocolate flakes, and much like the rest of the menu, it does not disappoint. Huge shout out to Juana and Justin, even though the place absolutely packed, they were always checking in on us making sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. Can’t recommend this spot enough.“

“Food here is truly exceptional. I’ve visited countless times, both on my own and with family and it remains one of my absolute favorite restaurants. Every dish I’ve ordered has been consistently outstanding. I can honestly say I’ve never left disappointed.

The atmosphere, however, can be hit or miss for me. It tends to get a bit loud at times. While some guests may enjoy the live music or small performances, I personally find that it detracts slightly from the overall dining experience. Still, the quality and consistency of the food easily keep me coming back.“

“Was in Linden running errand and saw this Peruvian chicken place and knew it was a done deal for lunch. So clean, and staff is attentive from the minute you walk in. Had the roasted chicken, fried rice, green salad and fried yucca — all very delicious. Special shout out to Melanie for her service!“

“Awesome first time here! Chef Jason and staff were extremely helpful. I tried their Lomo Saltado bowl. He gave me a sample of their pulled pork, carne asada, and chicken. They are slow cooked for a few hours. Everything was delicious and top tier! I will be coming back for sure!!!“

“Absolutely incredible experience! The food was fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor. Every dish had that perfect balance of seasoning that Peruvian cuisine is known for. The ceviche was bright and delicious, the lomo saltado was cooked perfectly, and the sauces were out of this world.

The service was fast, warm, and genuinely welcoming — you can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. The restaurant itself was clean, stylish, and had a great atmosphere.

Overall, one of the best Peruvian meals I’ve ever had. Highly recommended, and definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!“

I had the double fried wings and sloppy joe bao bun for a starter and each dish was better than the last. the wings were super crispy yet tender inside and the sloppy joe bao buns were a trip down memory lane. the sloppy brought me back to my childhood eating at a friend's house. for my ramen I had the tonkatu. their pork broth was hearty and tasteful and reminded me of my first bowl of real ramen. I highly recommend going there and finding out on your own...“

“I was in town to visit to see cats at Rahway Kitty Hall. This restaurant is right next store. I stopped into get something to eat. I was impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. My Spanish is not so great, but the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The food I had was very good. I am interested in people from other cultures and their food. “Good food, limited communication due to the staff have limited English. The dining area was small, very crowded. Food served pretty fast eventhough they need to redo my order because the waiter took the wrong order. Overall foods are delicious.“

“My experience here was good. I loved the food. I tried a little bit of everything they had like the ribs, rice, and soup. The restaurant is tiny inside but they do have enough tables if you prefer to eat inside. I’m not sure what the theme or culture of the place is, all I know it’s hispanic. Can’t judge a restaurant on one dish
It was my first time trying this place, and I just have the pollo a la brasa rotisserie chicken. To me the star of the meal was the hot green sauce, that accompanied the chicken, but the chicken was also savory.
Now, I tried the chicha morada, purple corn drink, and it was so sweet that I couldn’t figured out if it was from real corn or what was made of. Prices are good, portions too, the place is comfortable and is located in a small plaza with parking lot.“
