“Had dinner there for the second time on Saturday night! It was very memorable. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the eggplant with the Barata for an appetizer. It was so delicious and so tasty and my main course was the homemade linguine with lump crab and corn. We also got the meatball which was spectacular and then I got the cheesecake dessert which was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever eaten. I absolutely love love love this place. Can’t wait to go back and eat there again.“

“Sam’s Table is a cozy restaurant with a seasonal menu and very welcoming staff and decor. We dined here with friends in March where we had the most delicious spring menu. Everyone at the table tried something they “don’t usually like” and Sam changed our minds. Every course was fresh, creative, beautiful and delicious. I loved how each dish had a special touch - we had preserved lemon and pea tendrils and sunflower seed tahini and dandelion. We will definitely be back.“

The prices were so reasonable which is rare in Montclair! and they were so dog friendly! it was our first time there but not the last!“

“This restaurant was new to this area, and it did not miss. We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the staff. We booked a reservation last minute and they were able to accommodate us on a pretty busy night. We hung out at the bar until our table was ready, and it was in a semi-private room, which I liked. I'm not a huge guac fan but the tuna tartare with that layer of guac on top was fantastic. The steak frites were excellent. My husband had the dry aged burger, it was juicy and tasty. It was our first time there but it certainly won't be our last.“

“Great Food, Great Service Great Atmosphere. So we were bummed when we saw they closed the original location because how much we loved the place. We were relieved when they announced they were opening up in a much more appropriate and highly upgraded venue. This was perfect timing for us to celebrate our 9 year anniversary here. Upon arriving the inside captures the comfort and style of the Livingston location and then improves upon it with the beautiful outside seating area. Now onto the food which is just as good if not better than the original location im glad to see the quality has remained consistent. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wifes pasta dish was packed with quality flavor. The drink menu was definitely brought to the next level as well everything seemed like it was fine tuned and everything we tried was on point and had its own unique delicious flavor profile. Andy behind the bar was very knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to talk to about the different cocktails. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was great it wasn't youre traditional kind but we loved the spin they put on it with the cake and ice-cream. Lastly for service Jonathan took amazing care of us and made our special day very memorable along with the rest of the staff. Everyone that came by the table was professional and had a smile on their face. They all seemed happy and took pride in their work which was nice to see. We will definitely be returning in the future. I implore anyone that reads this to visit and support this wonderful place.“

“We have been here many times before A play at Papermill Playhouse and have always enjoyed this restaurant however, on this one occasion, we were a little disappointed as the price fixed menu was no longer available, even though it was still on their website and also the service was very slow and no one ever checked on us to see if we needed refills for our beverages. Don't know if it was just a bad night or what, but it was not one of our better experiences.“

“Delicious food. Great service by Sydney! It started with amazing honey bread at the table. Flatbreads yum, especially the one with fig topping. Muscles, tuna tartare, noodle flush, brussel sprouts, calamari salad, and more! All yum! Would absolutely go there again. We had 8-10 people and the service was excellent.“

“We originally planned to eat at the Hibachi at American Dream on Mothers Day. It was over an hour wait! A couple doors down was the Yard House, a restaurant favorite by my grandkids. Again, this is Mother's Day.

We were told there was a 15 minute wait that was only 10 minutes to sit 6 people. The NY Nicks were also playing game 4 and this is mostly a sports bar. It was a great time!

Service was fast and pampered, food was really great, fantastic family atmosphere and the selection of beers was the best yet!!

“We stopped by after an event at NJPAC on a Sunday afternoon and had a fantastic experience. The grilled feta with cherry tomatoes and pita bread was absolutely to die for. I had the braised short rib and my partner had the shrimp scampi—both were excellent.
For drinks, I tried the Fig Mule and the Buchanita (both great, though I preferred the mule), while my partner really enjoyed the Spiked Southern Tea. Overall, a wonderful meal and experience—highly recommend!“

“A group of us decided to give this restaurant a try after a round of golf. We were so happy we did!!! What gem. The atmosphere was very nice! Great bar with plenty of TVs. Nice restaurant area. The food was the highlight! Great food! We had possibly the best wedge salad I have ever had. Trust me. The rest of our group had salads, wings, fish tacos and burgers. All great! Our waitress was also so friendly and nice. We will be back! Even without golf we plan to come back.“

“We dined at Robert’s for the first time. We were celebrating a relative’s birthday. The food was outrageous! The appetizers were amazing as were all of the entrees. I had chicken stuffed with mushrooms and I can honestly say that it was the best chicken I have ever eaten. The portions were plentiful. We had a large selection of desserts to choose from at the end of the meal. I chose one particular dessert but before mine came out, I asked if I could exchange it for one that someone in our party had in front of her. No problem. They accommodated me and it was beyond delicious. Also, the staff was very attentive during our whole meal. They could not have been any better. The only negative was the fact that there was also another birthday celebration going on at the same time and it was so noisy that we couldn’t hear each other talk. Despite that, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this fabulous restaurant.“

“My first visit to Charlie Blood's definitely won’t be my last.
We started with the baked clams, which were fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. The bar pie was exactly what you want from a classic Jersey tavern pie—thin, crispy, and packed with flavor.
For mains, the steak with shrimp scampi was outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp scampi added that rich, buttery garlic flavor that made the whole dish stand out. The Drunken Onion Burger was another highlight—juicy, loaded with caramelized onions, and just downright satisfying. The owner even came out with some of their dessert options to try which ended the night perfectly.
The food, atmosphere, and overall experience made for a great first visit. Safe to say I’ll 100% be back to try even more on the menu. If you’re in the area and looking for great food in a classic local spot, Charlie Blood’s is absolutely worth the stop.“
