Katz's meat is so intensely flavorful that I usually need to take a break and cleanse my palate before I can finish later. This place is a fantastic alternative if you're in Jersey. The prices are reasonable, and the 8 oz option is perfect for satisfying your craving without breaking the bank. The Knish and macaroni salad were delicious as well. They give you delicious pickles. We’ll definitely be returning often. Update January 2026. Stopped by for some pastrami sandwiches. They are still delicious and worth every penny. Hot dog special this week, $2.00. I used to live on Grove, and back then it felt like more of a neighborhood secret. Now there’s almost always a crowd outside and someone trying to get the perfect corner table photo—but somehow it still feels real.

That’s hard to pull off.

I like it best at the bar. Cocktail, a few plates, nowhere to be. The room is busy and packed, but still somehow cozy instead of chaotic.

Zucchini fritti, tagliatelle, and a mezcal margarita - the zucchini fritti disappeared fast—light, crisp, salty, exactly what you want with a drink. The tagliatelle was simple in the best way. Perfect pasta, balanced flavors, nothing trying too hard.

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!“

With only one other helper, she never showed any frustration and provided excellent above and beyond customer service! The cashier with her was brand new and super sweet as well!
