The dining room has efficient little booths crammed into a space full of old graffiti and celebrity photos. The soundtrack is Stevie Wonder and Ella Fitzgerald, both welcome. (Didn't have any wait at 11:30am.) And the pizza! Our large pie showed up in what felt like 5 min, and it was fantastic. The amazing sauce was clearly made in house -- a far cry from the crappy canned sauce so many places use. Ample cheese and a crisp, delicious crust made every part of it fantastic. “Before I even lived in the neighborhood Jajaja was easily one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. I have brought so many friends here because it is perfect from anywhere to a date night to a chill lunch/dinner to catch up with friends. Their cocktails are amazing especially their version of an espresso martini. All of the staff is so friendly and always make sure you're taken care of at all times. On top of everything and most importantly the food is AMAZING. Although I am not vegan anymore, I still can call this my favorite restaurant because they do everything on their menu so well and it's rare in my experience where vegan food is indistinguishable from non-plant based food and my favorite is the enchiladas mole. I went with friends but it would also be a great first date spots with only 30 seats (plus another 8 at the bar) - started with the Kanom Jeeb Pak and Kanom Jeeb dumplings which were both delicious and my friends and I shared the rib eye which was unbelievably flavorful and cooked to perfection along with the pad thai (which they made veggie for my friend who doesn’t eat meat) and the pad see ew. First off, amazing to see that there were no added sugars and that all the components of their drinks were individually perfected.We ended up ordering and got our drinks pretty quickly, but while we waited one of the staff members offered us a sample of their pudding topping. It was great to try and extremely kind of the staff to offer, especially because there was no incentive for them to do so as we had already ordered.You can tell that the staff really care about making a great business. They haven’t been open for too long, and I hope they receive lots of support so I can go back and try more of the drinks they have to offer.In terms of seating, they don’t offer any, but you can easily walk around the area and find some or walk while drinking.You can also get a stamp card to get a discount on your tenth return!TLDR: Amazing drinks, not too sweet, very refreshing. I don't even know, I could have eaten 10 of those things.For mains, wifey got the burger per Yelp direction and I got the Steak Frites because I am on a mission to try every Steak Frites in the city.The burger is absolutely to die for. The hype is real. It's recommended medium rare, and it came cooked to perfection. I mean look at the attached pic, Jesus Christ. Every bite of this large beef patty amalgamated with cabot cheddar, onion marmalade, marrow aioli, and bacon is a juicy blast of heaven between 2 buns. It was spiritual.The Steak Frites was the best one I've had in NYC. Granted I've only had like 7-8, but still, head and shoulders my favorite right now. I mean again, just look at the pic attached. Do I need to say anymore? I mean look at that Maitre d' butter soaking into the steak. Great portion size too. Steak was bigger than my head ahaha God did.However the only negative, that is my civic duty to mention, was fries do not come with the burger... and the fries are an extra $12!?!?! DAMN. Me and wifey just split the fries from my Steak Frites so we were chillin, but an extra $12 for some fries? On top of a $20 burger? $25 if you add bacon too… $29 if you add the egg…I really began to worry about the future of the world when burgers stopped coming with fries. I wonder if they'll start serving scrambled eggs without bacon lol. That's when I'll know it'll be time to flee the country.Regardless of fry-gate, I loved this place... I don't hold it against them either, as most high end American places are doing this.
