I really wanted to enjoy this spot because I am coming from 2 hours away. The staff were genuinely kind, but unfortunately the food missed the mark for me. I ordered a few doubles and an aloo pie. The doubles had the right elements, but something was off with the seasoning as the flavors just weren’t fully there; close but not fully there. Also, mid-bite, I found a hair in the doubles, which was disappointing and made it impossible to continue eating.
The aloo pie was also inedible; I think the oil it was fried in gave it a strange taste.
I respect the effort and the friendliness of the people working there, but I was turned off by this experience.

Good Food, Great Service, but the Price Point is Hard to Swallow.
D Doubles Guy is a food trailer that brings genuinely delicious Trinidadian flavor with excellent service. I wish I could give it a higher rating, as the experience itself is top-notch, but the price difference between this trailer and established brick-and-mortar spots offering the same cuisine is too significant to ignore.
The food quality is great across the board. The star of the show, the doubles, are fantastic—I'd rate them a strong 4 out of 5. The channa is perfectly seasoned and of the correct consistently, the barra is fresh and fluffy. They have a few other items which I haven't tried due to the price eg. Bake and saltfish, cheese pies, bake and shark.
Beyond the food, the service here is warm, fast, and great. It's clear the team is running a professional operation, and I was also impressed by how clean and organized the kitchen setup looked inside the trailer.
However, the major sticking point is the cost. The prices are noticeably expensive compared to what you typically pay for these items at other local establishments. While I appreciate the quality and convenience, the premium charged makes it hard to justify frequent visits when comparable—and often cheaper—options are available nearby.
Overall, if price is no object, D Doubles Guy is an easy recommendation. But the high cost prevents the experience from reaching the 4- or 5-star territory, leading to a respectable, but slightly disappointing, 3-star rating.

Tried it over the summer for the 1st time and it did not disappoint, so had to bring my family to try. Drove all the way from Brooklyn for an authentic taste of home. The flavors are like non other. We tried Doubles, Shrimp Pie,Pepper Roti Pie & Saheena. Wish they were closer but well worth the drive. The customer service from the staff/owner was very welcoming and friendly. Not very common from certain establishments so very refreshing to be appreciated for our patronage. Will definitely recommend

Made the trek from Boston and Maryland. Chris and his team DID NOT disappoint! On a cool Fall Sunday morning his doubles HIT the spot! Ask for his homemade roast pepper (his own recipe) and like yourself! Truly reminds me of being back home in Trinidad and of course devouring ON THE SPOT!! The bara was perfect and the channa just right! And ofc no doubles would be complete without all the special sauces! Clean, friendly and a MUST VISIT for any homesick trini!

Tried there doubles and it was on point and better then 99% of the places around in NJ. They started serving other things as well and ive has the aloo pie, pineapple chow, and bake and saltfish. My favorite i still with is the aloo pie with shrimp. Everything else is still good and fresh.

I first heard about this food truck on social media and had been meaning to try it, but since it was 40 minutes away, I hesitate, I didn’t want to make the drive and end up disappointed. However, my cousin went and raved about how delicious their doubles were, so I finally made the trip. I’m so glad I did!
I tried the doubles and the aloo pie both were absolutely delicious! Everything is made to order, so it’s fresh, not sitting around getting soggy. It came out piping hot and full of flavor. I even brought some home to my family and they were all impressed with how amazing everything tasted.
The customer service was excellent. The owner, Chris, was very welcoming, and the staff was pleasant and friendly. Although I didn’t get to meet his wife, Tamera, I spoke with her on the phone and she was so sweet and professional.
I’ll definitely be going back. Highly recommend paying them a visit!

When I tell you that these doubles slap! Hands down the best doubles I’ve had in the states. Comparable only to the mother land in Trinidad. I’m a vegan and the options were natural and fresh. If you’re a vegan like me just tell them to hold the cheese, shrimp or saltfish. If you’re not a vegan then enjoy everything on the menu too! It’s a win win for everyone. Thanks Chris!

This is a great food truck. Parking was ample. They have a good set up across the street or on the same road street parking.
The line was long you can tell it was good! We waited about 35 min to be served and then about 10-15 min for the food. Everything they make to order fresh. That’s what makes the wait worth it and we also got 8 doubles 4 aloo pies and 3 pepper roti so we ordered a lot.
Drinks are served in a cooler and they had a lot to go around. They take card cash Apple/ Android pay.
Tue shrimp aloo pie and the pepper roti are def me new go to at this spot!
I love that they do bake and salt fish I didn’t order that this time but that’s a classic in my household that I will be trying next time.
The spic level is custom to fit your taste. I highly recommend and will be visiting again. It’s a great lunch spot or even dinner. I wouldn’t say quick eats but def great prices and high quality food.

Trini street food it’s a very authentic unique flavor not all can accomplish this mission , I have had doubles nationwide and no taste can compare to this the bara very thin yet super soft the Chana flavorful u can tell no added preservatives the condiments are on point spicy yet super flavorful and the best part it can be eaten straight out the fryer not a lot has that it’s a different taste to when a doubles is wrapped if I can travel 2 1/2 hrs to enjoy this doubles that alone can prove the flavor service and the ambience of it all I see myself making more frequent trips to enjoy authentic trini street foods 5 stars not enough
