Food was good, but My mother and I ordered because I leaf And rice and the potato greens and rice. both meals came with mostly meat no greens which is very disappointing because that’s mainly what I want. I don’t even eat the meat for real and it’s very disappointed because we spent $60 because we also got the beef stick. Beef sticks were good but it’s just because I believe in potato greens like we haven’t even eaten it because it’s just all meat. now we wasted $60 so disappointing because I eat here often.

I’ve arrived by the cafe to pick up my order. The woman at the counter was busy and I decided to go to the cafe’s restroom. When I approached the restroom, the woman attacked me screaming and did not allow me to go to the restroom . I don't know why she did this, I think she's racist. Avoid this place! The owner is not good woman

I had a chance to visit Fatu's Kitchen and the food was amazingly delicious. My coworker told me about a beautiful place in NJ that sell Liberian food. I was little in doubt about the place and began to ask questions, because I was traveling from NYC just to get a taste of Liberian food, and man she did not disappoint me. In NYC, we often run into Ghanaian, Nigerian and Senegalese restaurants, but I never seen an established Liberian restaurant. Thanks so much Fatu for incredible Lib food!

Had Liberian food today and was so excited. I was headed to a different restaurant but saw this Liberian restaurant with great reviews so I went. I’m part African and I want to try all the cuisines from Africa and this was my first try for Liberia ??. I guess maybe they did not see me as African so there wasn’t much attention to me and I asked for a couple of things from the menu but they didn’t have it. End of convo. The one lady just shook her head and turned away and walked off. lol..but don’t be turned off! -Customer service looks different in diff parts of the world and I won’t take stars off for that- I told the lady I want to try something here so what do you have and explain it to me. Can you help me with the menu so she did come around and explain almost everything to me and I ended up getting the cassava leaf because I’ve heard so much about it. Let me tell you. It’s absolutely delicious. Flavorful. Filling. Wow! There was so much mixed meat in it from cow foot, chicken, beef. (I don’t eat cow foot but the other meat was great) And she assured me there’s no pork in their restaurant. The Scotch pepper ?️ sauce on the side was sooo good and hot. The rice went well and they had Vimto soda. The ladies came to me to see if I liked it after and as a first timer I was hooked! I also got a slice of their rice bread that is similar to banana bread. It was so good and spiced. I would definitely eat here again.

I was visiting New York from Florida and traveled two and a half hours to get here. I’ve never had Liberian food and I was excited to give them a try. I ordered the potato greens and the cassava leaf. I informed them that I would like to eat the cassava leaf at the restaurant and take the potato greens to go.
The cassava leaf was exploding with flavors and was a bit spicy but nothing I couldn’t handle. It definitely reminded me of a Haitian cuisine called Lalo but one of the key differences were this was packed with a variety of meats and spicier. The staff was really nice as I interacted with them while I was there. However, I’m a bit disappointed because when I went to pay I reminded them again that I was going to be getting the potato greens to go and that I would need to pay for both of my meals. To my surprise when I got home, I noticed that the container they gave me said goat soup. While I should’ve doubled checked, I’m not sure how they messed up since their food is labeled. Don’t get me wrong, the goat soup was good but it would’ve been better enjoyed with fufu and not rice but I was also looking forward to the potato greens… maybe next time.

I think the person cooking the dry rice and fish has changed...dry rice has no herring..no flavor anymore...these past month or more....okra was rancid my last purchase...fish salty...please please let the original cook make the food again...bring back the delicious flavor to the rice fish and okra
My favorite place to eat when I don’t feel like cooking. I used to live right next door and enjoyed walking over whenever I felt hungry. The food is great, the restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. I moved to PA and could not find anything like Fatu’s kitchen (which made me start cooking more). But on days where I’m really not in the cooking mood, I find myself driving 2 hours to come get some food from Fatu’s kitchen. I could recommend my favorites but it’s all about preference.. and if you’re not familiar with Liberian cuisine, try a couple of dishes and discover what you like! If this is your first time trying west African food, Fufu and soup and jollof rice are always a go-to and Fatu’s Jollof and fufu are top-tier..chefs kiss, I promise you! But ask for recommendations at the restaurant, depending on what you like.. they are very friendly and always willing to help! I rarely leave reviews but I run to read reviews whenever I’m purchasing an item or trying a new restaurant. So hopefully this helps someone as indecisive and as picky as me. Fatu’s kitchen is the place for you!???
Parking: Lots of street parking! Also, the clinic across from Fatu’s has a huge open gate parking lot that you can park for as long as you need to, while you wait for your food or sit and eat.. you’re welcome!☺️

The esthetics is more that of a native Liberian restaurant, It’s not fancy. The food on the other hand is fresh and fabulous! If you want real authentic African cuisine this is the place to go. If you need fancy order take out and take it home.
