The rating being only 4.1 is criminal. Best Soul food in NJ and it’s not close. We lost Je’s and Chess House and I lost hope UNTIL I found this place. And the owner is the sweetest. Don’t hesitate just go.

We traveled a very long way to get food from this establishment. They ran out of almost everything we were ordering. And didn't even have some menu items. The ribs were over-cooked, macaroni and cheese was tasteless and cheese less, the turkey chops were very flavorful and well cooked but I ordered smothered and there was less than a drop of gravy present lastly the corn bread was very small-thin and left much to be desired. The portions were not great but that ok because it would have been wasted. Nothing that was purchased looked like presented on Social Media. Buyer beware.

I bugged my sister for weeks to give Lite & Soul Eatery a try. We finally did and it was amazing 👏🏾. My sister said the customer service was stellar 👌🏾 🙌 and she's big on CS if you know her. I'm glad we found this place, keep up the great work. Cornbread amazing, mac and cheese amazing, yams amazing, and gravy was amazing on them chops. My apologies, I didn't take pictures but the portions were worth the money and looked similar to the pictures and videos she post online thank goodness.

Food was overall good. Beef ribs were very yyyyyyyyyy beefy. Wished for more BBQ sauce. Typically like baked Mac n cheese ..more cakish but these were lose but very tasty. Wasn't fond of the collard greens...not well seasoned. Yams were lightly sweetened not too little not too diabetes! Cornbread was authentic. Some make it too sweet....this was just right. Wish I had a bigger piece.
The atmosphere was a bit cluttered...half restaurant half storage but I didn't feel like an unwanted creature was going to pop out and I get the woes of not having enough real estate in a brick and mortal to satisfy your storage needs. Overall I'd give it an A. I'll definitely go back.

Had a horrible experience on my first visit. The wait for my food was over an hour. I ordered the steak and take and chicken wings. My food was really good.
2nd attempt was today. After my movie in Clifton I called to place an order at about 6:17. I was told they don’t take over the phone orders . I drove to the establishment arrived at 6:35. Waited about 10 minutes s to place my order. Only to be told that they can’t make my order of two steak and takes. I should have arrived by 6:30. I say this to say the food was good but not worth my inconvenience.

Clean polite and the food is so freakin good my favorites-Hawaiian wings, Mac, cornbread 😋 yams 🍠, etc! Desserts-cake oreo cookie chocolate etc 😋! Peach 🍑 cobbler 👍 it's like everything Chef Raz makes is straight 👌 🔥 😋!!! Don't take my word go ahead and see for yourself!!!! I waited over 45 minutes for my food, only to discover one of my wing orders was completely wrong. I specifically ordered sweet onion wings (and repeated it twice), but when I got home, I found they gave me plain wings with no sauce.
I had to drive all the way back in the middle of a thunderstorm just to fix their mistake. When I got there, the young lady at the counter admitted, “I didn’t know you wanted sweet onion, my bad.” How do you not “know” when the customer clearly said it multiple times?
To make things worse, she then asked me to send an extra $2—for the sauce—after already messing up my order and wasting my time. Out of respect (especially since this is a Muslim-owned business and I’m Muslim myself), I sent the $2 and politely asked if they could just re-dip the wings so I could actually enjoy them hot.
Instead, the cook came out claiming I “never paid extra,” when I literally had just sent the money. I only sent what the cashier told me to send—it’s not the customer’s job to know exact pricing. After another 15–20 minutes of waiting, I was finally handed a cup of sauce with the excuse that they couldn’t re-dip the wings.
So here I am, back home with cold, soggy wings, extremely disappointed and honestly feeling scammed. I didn’t get what I paid for, and I wasted almost two hours in the process. This experience is a reminder to be very careful where you spend your money—because clearly, customer satisfaction is not a priority here.

When I got the food the turkey chops was cooked very hard and the cabbage was not cooked it was very crunchy as they say your first impression is a lasting impression I would never come back here again lite and soul yall took my soul
