Listen… this soup had me shimmying in my seat, okay? 😭✨
The Autumn Squash Soup is THAT girl — creamy, cozy, seasoned just right, pumpkin seeds crunchin’ on top… I was over there doing a happy dance with every bite like ‘yup, this is the one.’

The Mediterranean Veggie? It was cute… fresh… colorful… but wasn't giving what I expected. Just being honest.

But BABY… that chocolate chip cookie?
Yeah, that cookie got me in a CHOKEHOLD every single time.
Soft, warm, and never misses. I don’t know what they put in it but it hits every single time.

My food came out quick, everything was hot, staff was movin’, place was clean — no complaints.

If you come here, don’t play — get the squash soup and that cookie. Trust me.

I ordered online and part of my order was missing. The manager I spoke with refused to have it delivered. Really bad experience. I will not be eating at Panera East Rutherford, NJ again.

We visit Panera Bread quite regularly, and overall, the experience really depends on the day. The service can sometimes be very slow and a bit unfriendly, though every now and then we do get lucky and have someone cheerful at the counter, which makes a big difference.

The food also varies — there are times when everything is fresh, tasty, and just right, but we’ve also had moments where we left disappointed with the preparation or the speed of service.

I won’t go into too much detail, but in general, I’d say the service is just “so-so,” and the overall organization could definitely be better.

So here is my experience at this Panera bread location just now
I came here to buy a black pepper facochi bread and I wanted to toast it
The manager at the time was serving me at register
So she said that she cannot toast my bread i said all other locations that I go does toast my bread and am always happy
She insisted that she cannot toast it because it's not a sandwich
So I said the same way you toast the sandwich is the same way you can toast the bread because I want my bread hot so i can eat it now
And secondly the bread is not in a covered sealed cabinet and sometimes i see little flies on the bread
And the bread sits there in the open all day
I called another male manager which was right there and asked him to please toast my bread and he also refused with all kinds of excuses
So i told them forget the bread I'll go somewhere else where they'll do it for me
So I drove a few extra miles to another location where they toast my bread in the same toaster oven that they toast the sandwiches and I was very happy with with this service at this other location they made my day.
This is unacceptable at this rt 17 location because I don't know how they say they are running a restaurant and refuses to toast a customer's bread if they are toasting sandwiches all day every day, it makes no sense
And i hope cooperate will address this issue and make the restaurant function at it's maximum
I just was very disappointed for wasting my time to go there .

So disappointed because I've ordered from here a numerous amount of times and never had an issue. This past Sunday I ordered the same sandwich I get every time and I ended up with severe food poisoning to the point of where I thought I was gonna die. Wouldn't doubt it if it was because these kids they have working there don't wash their hands after using the bathroom and then they're touching people's food. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to find a new location to go to from now on at a further distance making it less convenient for me.

Edit: I called corporate to report this case of food poisoning and they sent me an email back taking no accountability possible. I have attached the screenshot of the BS email the sent me and I have charged back the 13 dollar payment with my bank. I have a specialist's determination that i had a severe case of food poisoning and was almost hospitalized.

I ordered catering for 15 people to be delivered between 12:00-12:15 for lunch. The food didn't arrive until 12:45 and they did not bother to let us know that they were running late. They also didn't have a driver to deliver so instead they contacted a third party to complete the delivery. Good food, trash customer service.

This is a very bad Panera. Most Paneras are poorly managed in my experience, but this is one of the worst. Some of my observations:

1) Incredibly rude manager who I witnessed treating an elderly customer very disrespectfully.

2) Very bad food (small portions, sloppily prepared sandwich, microscopic soup which is 99% water).

3) Unfriendly attitude from the employees, as if it is a burden to be working there.

4)Generally very dirty carpet and tables. I had to wipe the table prior to use.

Lastly, I know for a fact this place gets negative reviews shadow banned so imagine how many more negative reviews are actually out there that are hidden. This is a truly awful place.

I actually was going to give 5 star because of AnnaMarie the manager when I visited and her great service.
Gabby was unprofessional, unfriendly and unkind , I would have given Gabby a one star and it would have bought the overall performance to a 3 star which away from the quality of great service by others.

And again, I'm here at Panera like every morning. I've been coming here every day since years ago and I'm seeing how this place goes downhill. I every morning costumers like me are waiting for coffee to be put out. Every costumer I know says the same thing, this place is getting worst with the service. No coffee, no one available to speak to. It's very ridiculous, the reason I keep coming here is because is nearby, but I know a lot of people stopped coming cause of this. You guys' remodel that's great! but you took out switches to charge computers that's a big no, you lost costumers cause of that. Come back old Panera.
