As a newfound lover of New Jersey bar pies, I've been on a mission to uncover the best spots--and New Park Tavern is undoubtedly among them. Though I've visited before, today felt like the perfect opportunity to swing by with the wife for some brews and a pizza fix.
Stepping into New Park Tavern is like taking a step back in time, where the bar takes center stage and the atmosphere oozes old-school charm. We kicked off our afternoon with a couple of crisp Stellas, perfectly paired with two small pies: one white and one topped with sausage, onions, and peppers. Both pizzas were a revelation--just a touch thicker than your typical bar pie, yet retaining that perfect crispness that makes every bite a delight.
Despite being a bit understaffed for a bustling Saturday afternoon, the wait staff handled things with grace and efficiency, ensuring we were well taken care of. All in all, it was an experience that cemented this spot as a go-to. Delicious food, great vibes, and that timeless tavern feel? Count me in. I'll definitely be back!

Well, I've come here on and off for years, but this will probably be the last time. I ordered a generously portioned tossed salad, and a bowl of shrimp bisque. Never ever ever get the shrimp bisque here, it's terrible. I told the waitress it was terrible, I didn't eat it past two mouthfuls, it's still on the bill. So that knocked her down to 15% and also is why I won't be returning. They have some good stuff still, but things like that turn me away. Stand by your product, and if it's terrible and not used, own it and take that off the bill. For under $8, you lost a customer. 🤷♂️

Good service, good Guinness pour and I thought the big round bar counter was cool.
Maybe there is more than 10 server working in this restaurant but service is very slow they don’t care.
