This place is just WOW! The rice balls are all so delicious. The rice is imported from Japan and you can definity taste the quality. My top favorites are spicy chicken( contains peanuts) and spam which contains kinda like a tamagoyaki egg and it's wrapped with a strip of seaweed sheet. You should definitely check this place out as they have a majority of options to choice from.
My favorite place for onigiri. Onigiri this well stuffed and filling is hard to come by. My personal favorites are the spicy bomb, the mentaiko and the spam musubi. A lot of solid options. The karaage is also really good quality here and I occasionally get the set in the winter time. Located inside rhe lively Mitsuwa, it's a solid pre or post shopping snack. I always save 1 for later when I buy stuff here.
Ordered $35 of rice balls and was asked to pay 20 cents for a bag. Petty and ridiculous considering one can simply grab a few from Mitsuwa instead.
Saw a long line of people waiting, and it totally lived up to the hype! 🙌 The onigiri here ranges from $2.40 to $5 each, and every bite was worth it. 🍙💖 Fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a quick snack on the go!
I’ve always been a fan of Japanese rice balls, so I’ve been coming here for years. However, I think the customer service really needs improvement. Today, we noticed an error on the receipt where we were double-charged for mentaiko and salmon. (Luckily we checked our receipt, otherwise we wouldn’t have realized we were charged extra!) We went to the cashier to ask for a refund, but it took an unusually long time for them to process it. After finally receiving the refund, we asked for a paper bag, and the lady said no, they would need to charge for it, which really surprised me. After making us wait so long for a mistake they made, they couldn’t even offer a small grocery paper bag as an apology. What was even more ridiculous was that the lady said, “I can do nothing; you can talk to my boss” and offered us her boss’s business card so we could call. I was shocked that she expected us to take time to call her boss over a paper bag. It felt like they didn’t value our time at all, especially after making us wait so long for their error. This experience really made me feel how absurdly they treat customers.
Massive onigiris! The rice to fish ratio was however a bit disappointing. The unagi onigiri only had 1 small piece of eel, but at least all the onigiris are served room temperature/warm.
An onigiri dream!!! Many varieties and always being freshly made and replenished right in front of you. Service is fast and prices are very fair.
Love their eel rice ball.
Delicious
always tasty and a good size for the price! I’ve tried spam, salmon, pickled, shirasu, all solid choices and delicious ?

Restaurantji Recommends
It’s like 95% rice and 5% actual ingredients, I’d be willing to pay more if they put more - would not recommend spicy chicken since it was less than a small dot of chicken inside

Omusubi Gonbei is a small quick service shop specializing in Omusubi Rice Balls.
They typically are open around the same time Mitsuwa opens up, and the lines do get quite long.
Omusubi prices are pretty good for the portion size, and the options do have some vegetarian options as well. The service is quite quick as they typically have Omusubi ready to go, and they're kept warm enough inside the storage that they are warm and feel fresh when receiving it.
I've tried multiple throughout the many years I've been coming to this spot. My highlights are the Spicy Bomb, Bomb, Karaage, and Eel. The Eel and Karaage are within the name, with a Karaage fried chicken inside the rice ball and the eel being a regular eel inside the rice ball. The Spicy Bomb is the highlight of the location, and also one of the more expensive options.

The salmon onigiri was great. I hate to take away a star because of their menu offering but they don’t have regular mayo tuna and only have spicy tuna! That’s my kids favorite!

I was paying with cash and total came out to $7.46. Shorter (there are tall and shorter women) Hispanic woman gave me back only $0.50 back so I asked her she needs to give me more. She ended up giving me just 3cents back which I think is ridiculous. You lose credibility by small things like this.
