Lowkey obsessed with this spot. The service was amazing, the short Hispanic girl with the black hair was literally the sweetest. She helped me pick my order and was super patient and chill about it. The spicy tuna and the chicken onigiri are top tier, like I keep thinking about them after I leave. Definitely recommend pulling up here if you want something fire and fresh.

They have a wide variety of riceballs, with great savory taste. Been here multiple times and always get great food.
The short hispanic girl with short black hair was very helpful at the counter. Definitely should stop by if your in Mitsuwa.
My favorite is the spicy chicken.

Great place for a quick bite. They got a lot of options to choose from. Would personally recommend the spam musubi or the karaage.

Everything was excellent. The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They made good suggestions for the rice ball, which I hadn't tried before, and I was pleased with my order. The restaurant was also clean. Definitely coming back.

The place is clean, service is quick and the food excellent! The establishment helps new, young and returning workers work at a professional level - very inspiring! I recommend this joint to all my friends!

Omusubi Gonbei is such a hidden gem! It’s the perfect spot when you want something quick, fresh, and comforting. Their rice balls are always perfectly seasoned and wrapped just right — you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. I love how you can mix and match different fillings, and everything feels homemade.

The service is friendly and fast, and the place has a clean, welcoming atmosphere even though it’s more of a grab-and-go style. There’s a nice girl who has fair skin and nice black hair- she’s always very helpful and kind, even when they’re busy.

I always leave feeling happy and satisfied. Definitely recommend it if you’re craving authentic Japanese comfort food! 🍙

My new onigiri spot. Went there for a quick bite but was blown away with the flavors so I ended up going back and buying some for home.

There were a lot of people but the line moved pretty fast since the employees worked quickly and were efficient. The employee who helped me (shout out to the worker with black hair and fair skin) was so kind! Her recommendations definitely hit home as everyone who ate them, loved them.

Even though it’s out of the way for me, I would definitely go back!

I went there on a weekend to try out some authentic onigiri. It was very busy and the line was long but moved very fast as the staff was efficient and friendly! The store manager was in that day and she answered all my questions I had about the food with an upbeat attitude. My younger cousin has food allergies so she was a huge help directing me about the onigiri and it's ingredients. Food was amazing and I will definitely visit again! 10/10 would recommend!

Terrible experience here. The one guy at the register was completely rude and utterly disrespectful when I asked if they had a garbage I can throw away a receipt. He didn’t even look at me and just pointed with his head that the garbage was behind me. Couldn’t even do me the favor to tell me with words. Also handled my food with the same gloves he touched my cash with. Nasty 🤮 and the rice ball didn’t have enough tuna. I paid for mostly rice!😭

Small Onigiri with barely any meat. One of the employees charged my 9 yr old son for 3 onigiris when he only got 1. I confronted him and he didn’t even have the courtesy to say “I’m sorry” rude and classless.

At Omusubi Gonbei, I observed multiple employees coughing persistently in a very small food preparation area. One employee was repeatedly coughing with an open box of rice and onigiri they were shaping by hand. Staff were coughing on each other and into the open air while handing food to customers, with no masks being worn by anyone present.
This situation poses an unacceptable health hazard. Allowing visibly ill employees to prepare and serve food in such close quarters creates a breeding ground for bacteria and increases the likelihood of disease transmission. By failing to enforce even the most basic precautions, mask wearing while someone is actively coughing and sick, management has shown disregard for vulnerable populations, including the immunocompromised, the elderly, and young children who are most at risk. They clearly have learned nothing from the pandemic, it is beyond comprehension and goes against basic human decency.
It is evident that management is beyond money-hungry and greedy, prioritizing profit over the health of both employees and customers. Such callous disregard for food safety and public well-being should not be ignored.
It is deeply concerning that Omusubi Gonbei would allow—or perhaps even require—employees to work while visibly ill, particularly in an establishment centered around literal handmade food.

Such practices show a complete disregard for public health and safety and reflects a deeply profound utter lack of respect for everyone who steps foot inside Mitsuwa.

As previously stated, it is evident that Omusubi Gonbei is a selfish business that prioritizes profit over responsibility, employee and customer safety, and basic human decency.

This place is just WOW! The rice balls are all so delicious. The rice is imported from Japan and you can definity taste the quality. My top favorites are spicy chicken( contains peanuts) and spam which contains kinda like a tamagoyaki egg and it's wrapped with a strip of seaweed sheet. You should definitely check this place out as they have a majority of options to choice from.

My favorite place for onigiri. Onigiri this well stuffed and filling is hard to come by. My personal favorites are the spicy bomb, the mentaiko and the spam musubi. A lot of solid options. The karaage is also really good quality here and I occasionally get the set in the winter time. Located inside rhe lively Mitsuwa, it's a solid pre or post shopping snack. I always save 1 for later when I buy stuff here.

Ordered $35 of rice balls and was asked to pay 20 cents for a bag. Petty and ridiculous considering one can simply grab a few from Mitsuwa instead.
