I stopped by Mitsuwa to pick up some Japanese OTC medicine and decided to grab a tempura soba set from Hannosuke for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The shrimp tempura was rubbery and tasted like it had been refried in old oil, and the hot soba was practically inedible. It’s clear why there are so many 5-star reviews — they offer a free drink in exchange — but the food quality doesn’t come close to deserving that rating.
The entire food court feels run-down and neglected. It’s a shame, because this place used to be fantastic back when it was Yaohan. Mitsuwa really needs a major refresh — both in food quality and atmosphere. I honestly wouldn’t pay even a dollar for that meal again.
