My family loves it here. The staff is friendly and asks about our kids when they’re not with us, feels like home! The wonton soup is the best I’ve ever had and the Tom yum is delicious. I always order a side of eggplant and Chinese broccoli w home made garlic sauce, and they accommodate our special requests! Kids get the meat skewers and noodle soups. The mango and sticky rice w/coconut sauce is amazing for dessert. I always order extra so I can have another meal!

Been here so many times! One of my family’s favorite places to go to. We mainly go for the Roti Canai & Chicken Satay and usually order seconds and even thirds. It’s just so good! They have so many different options to choose from and I’m sure they’re all great but our go-to is def those two dishes. Also love their fresh coconut water and fried ice cream!

One of the places I have in mind to take the family for food - Penang Malaysian and Thai Cuisine in Edison, New Jersey. Definitely brings us back to great feels and nostalgia of our life in Asia. The food and taste that takes us back to travels, adventures, friends and family. The food at this restaurant is delicious. Made me miss friends and family more, but felt closer to home. My love language is quality time and taking people I love, to try different types of food. My love language is expressed through taking you out to eat and splurging on food. Whenever I take my siblings out to eat, I make them try all that I have tried in my travels. I do the same thing to my husband and kids - the Taste of Asia always links to heritage and our other home.

We ordered all the food that we have been craving for;

*Nasi Lemak
*Penang Satay with Peanut Butter dip
*Roti Canai
*Penang Char Kway Teow
*Bah Kut Teh Soup
*Spring Rolls
*Fried Rice

Of course, never complete without our favorite desserts :

*Thai Mango
*Thai Iced Tea with Pearls
*Sticky Rice
*Mochi
*Fried Ice Cream
*Halo-Halo Shaved Ice (Malaysian Version)

The place is well lit, very open and spacious. It was not crowded and we didn’t have to wait to be seated. Best for family dinners. The food was quickly served. Food price is reasonable, quite the average rate for Thai/Malaysian restaurants in the area, approximately 150USD for the 4 of us which is around 8,000 in Philippine peso.

The staff were very nice, super friendly too and our waiter was speaking to us in Filipino. Awesome experience over all! Would love to take friends there again sometime. Looking forward!

Yesterday , had a terrible experience with Penang , ordered a item for take out , very rude behaved lady was asking us to pay by cash or no take out,

Then we asked her that can we eat in one of the tables instead of take out, she immediately tells me that we have to tip

We are frequent visitor of Penang, my daughter who loves food asked me that let’s eat in car instead as lady was following us and was talking in a very unpleasant tone and manner.

Vegetarian options: Food was good, but lady in charge was terrible

Went here for a weekend late lunch. Calamari was SO good. Roti canai solid (wish we had ordered more)! Hakka crispy pork SO SO crispy and tasty. Papaya salad was a little spicier than I remember but still good. Can’t wait to eat here again!! Only remembered to take pic of the calamari because too busy eating once all the dishes came out😆.

Update: I did win the dispute with my credit card company. Their response is a complete lie. I never ordered the wrong dish. I never ordered anything that had curry or that was yellow. I also never hung up on anyone as most of the conversation was via text with me sending pics of what they advertise on Google vs what dish was received. The two dishes are completely different. It's bad enough that they falsely advertise a dish and do not stand by pics on one of their ordering sites, but it's significantly worse knowing that they then respond with lies. I have pics of everything, including text conversations which is why my credit card company ruled the dispute in my favor. Not only will I never order here again and I live very close by, I will also never recommend their restaurant and I give dining recommendations all the time as I work part time on the weekends at a local hotel. Be very wary of this establishment.

Absolutely horrible, I didn't want to believe the bad reviews as this place is right around the corner from my job and we send many ppl there because it's close and walkable, despite the bad reviews. I've even had complaints from our customers about their food, but today I decided to order. The food looks nothing like the picture on Google and my Thai Lemongrass Stone Pot Rice showed up with curry on it and no veggies. Since when is lemongrass yellow? Even if you Google random Thai Lemongrass Stone Pot Rice images, nothing looks like what I was given and all images have veggies on it. I will post pics of what I ordered vs what they gave me. The worst part is after texting the customer service lady there numerous pics she continued to argue with me saying that there are no pics on their website. I ordered from Google and there are pics all over there under their menu and business name. Don't get mad at the customer for where you promote your business as you took my money and order from that same site, but now want to argue that this is not your site. Make it make sense. On their actual direct site there is no pic or even a description of the food. How is it the customers fault that Google is where I placed my order based on the pics and they took my money and now want to claim the pics do not belong to their business ? If it's not your site then give me my money back and take the food back. Their argument makes zero sense. I do not eat curry and didn't want anything that looks yellow or what they gave me. I'm disgusted at this first impression. I will never send another customer there as their lack of desire to fix the issue was far worse than the initial screw up. Not one of their stone pot items shows a pic with anything yellow on it. I will dispute with my bank and throw the food away. I should have just got Thai Food from Phatra Thai as I would have been happier and satisfied. Do not order from them or waste your money. Phatra Thai in Metuchen has way better food and stand by their pictures to at least give an idea as to what is on their menu items. Google this place if you do not believe that they have pics on almost every menu item. The manager then called me and was highly disrespectful and continued to argue saying maybe the pic came from another place. Umm, then how did you get my order sir and take my money/credit card with my online order from this site? Never again! Stay away? I also called to make sure my food was ready before pick up and the lady asked me if I wanted to add egg, I said "sure". Then she tells me it's $2.00 more as if they are working in a nail salon with the upsell tactics. I did get the egg added but can't eat that either as everything has curry on it and my office stinks like curry too. No wonder they have a 3.8 rating.

The name Penang gives an impression of a Malaysian restaurant, which it used to be. The food was genuinely Malaysian and the quality was good. It may have changed chefs or ownership as the menu now offers more Chinese (Cantonese) cuisines with a hint of Malaysian or fusion of Malaysian Chinese dishes. We recently ordered a staple dish: salted fish fried rice, and it was OK.
