I am so hurt, lol... I've been to this place so many times. I come up from Trenton. Trenton to Elizabeth is a little hike. Anyway, today's visit finally disappointed. Big time. My onion rings were burnt- the smaller pieces had dry powdery batter in the middle. IDK what the seasoning was on the chips but it made eating them unbearable. I had to come back twice- once for my cole slaw and the second time for the tartar sauce. So glad I only got down the street. If I'd made it all the way back to Trenton without them I'd be really mad. Smh...I should have checked the bag before leaving, but still. To pay 30 bucks (which included a tip) for what happened today, I'm probably not coming back, at least to this location.

I had my first experience at the Chippery on October 31st (Halloween). I ordered a few things with my fiancé: two entrees and two starters. We live right around the corner from this place and had been meaning to try it out. The guy working that day was nice and friendly. He even brought the food out to our car when it was ready. Upon getting home I realized he didn't pack the two starters: calamari and the lobster bisque. I called them to let them know and the guy had realized and said we could come get it. I opted for a refund since I didn't feel like going back out. He said the owner would take care of it the next day. Well that never happened so I called a week later to ask about it. Of course the owner wasn't in again and that continued to be true the next time as well. I was constantly was promised a refund and never received it. It's almost a month later and I just decided to go through my credit card company who reimbursed me immediately for the missing items. The food that we did receive was fine but I have an issue with a business not taking responsible for their mistake. I won't be coming here again!

Delivery Order - Food was delivered on time and it warm enough. Not a big fan of the Fish and Chips, but the Shrimp Sandwich was pretty good. Would fried shrimp instead of fish, if I am ordering again.

Food tastes fresh n high quality, and the chef is an awesome chef
This place is beyond filthy!! I walked in and felt like running out but guy had already come to the register and I felt weird to turn around and leave so I just ordered a fish sandwich. The smell of the fish was nauseatingly gross. A smell I can’t describe, definitely did not smell like fish and was only luke warm. They also put the tartar sauce right on the bun instead of just giving it on the side. The guy in the back cooking looked annoyed and suspicious while cooking the food. I came home and threw the sandwich away. People will clearly eat anything giving the 4 star reviews. Yuck!!!!!!

The food was okay until I found a dead ant in the white powder sugar, of the funnel cake and there was blocks of white powder sugar. This was the first and last time I'll order from that place.

My husband & I were looking for some sea food early Father’s Day. This is a one man show let’s start there. This young man was the chef & su chef cashier bagger take in person & online & phone call orders.
This young man DESERVES A RAISE !!! I can’t express that enough. The heat is unbearable just waiting for food alone was a hot sauna & frying is even hotter oil creates more heat & anyone that cooks knows that.
With that being said this guy has no air just a door off to the side & it’s to no relief clearly. If this young man is working most likely to help his mother (family ). He probably had no choice but to wrk. He could have been with friends going to the the beach or pool doing what kids do. I say a kid early because he looks early 20’s. Could be my son.
If the owner knows of this he should make it better environment.
I have driven pass a few of these chain take out spots until I finally stoped in this one.
The food is really good the service is great as the young man doing his best & as fast as he could to cook take walk in’s , orders, phone orders & online as I Stated before. Knowing that you have a few of this small spots to eat means you are making money because this spot here was jumping in & out ordering picking up order or placing it was non stop. As a boss I would have my employee in a better working conditions to wrk in like for hours. Day time is the hottest as well. The owner can get some air conditioning even if it’s a floor model some fans as well. It was a miracle no one passed out from the heat outside & inside. I didn’t get the young man name but he’s the only one working this spot all alone. Tip him if you go because he deserves it ! Very polite & respectful & you can see he’s a hard worker ! Give the guy a raise & some air ! It’s like locking someone in a car for hrs while the sun & heat is cooking you.

A lot of people gave this place positive reviews so figured I'd check it out. I was disappointed. Nobody else there at lunch time. That was first red flag. Definitely was not a clean place. Tiny inside. Says you could eat inside but I don't know where. No tables and counter is tiny. Food was meh. Wasn't terrible but def wasn't great. I got a fish and chips platter and fish sandwich. Def not filling. Fries were chips with seasoning on them and they were good. The sandwich wasn't anything great. Hardly any cole slaw and again fish is not at all meaty. Felt like I ate a lot of bread. Would rather go for fish and chips at a diner.
