Horrible. As a Portuguese, from the Minho region in Portugal (where this restaurant's name originates from), I can assure you the food is NOT good. This place would never survive in Portugal. Food is not authentic Portuguese, and definitely not fresh. If you have any experience working in a restaurant kitchen, you know a lot of their food is pre prepared. Sad but not surprised. For the non Portuguese, this may be an ok .place, I guess! Not surprised, given the big parties done at this place, in addition to serving the restaurant customers, plus attending their newest section next door to the restaurant, there's no way every plate is freshly prepared as ordered.
This bar and grill is in my neighborhood it is my favorite spot you can't go wrong with anything on the menu a good variety of drinks and wine the staff is very friendly
We’ve never had a bad meal at Valenca. Their servers are ver friendly and the food is outstanding! It’s a shame that we don’t live closer or we would definitely eat there more often. 10 stars ⭐️
I have been going to this restaurant for the last 20 years. The last three times I was there. The food was either cold or prepared incorrectly. I personally do not like hot pepper in my food and they constantly sneak it in and then when I complain about it and have them they just rinse it with water and give it back to me, which is not acceptable not for the price today. I am paying for food. Sorry Valencia has gone downhill and they have lost a customer that has been very faithful for them for 20 years.
Wow! Absolutely blown away by the friendly service, ambiance and food. I was passing through on a business trip so asked around for a good place to eat. This place came up- i was immediately seated at the bar and promptly asked what i would like to drink- fast salad & breadbasket and was really hard to select a main dish as everything looked fantastic. Every single bite was devine and the ambience and friendly service was such a breath of fresh air. I would 10/10 recommend and will 100% come back again! Super impressed!
Although this spot is beautiful the food was a step above average. The waiter wasn't that friendly and the glass was dirty. Algarve is best food and service.
Nice people, but they forgot my order and when I got it they just threw the meal together without concern. I mentioned my concern to the waitress, but no resolution was offered.
We only got a chance to try the appetizer which it was cold, and we had to leave after we found a roach in the water. Image attached

We went to Valenca recently and I was pleasantly surprised. I’m not a connoisseur of Portuguese food by any means, but the food here, from the main meal to dessert was top notch. Pictured is the Rib Eye steak (with a piece cut off; sorry I started eating before I remembered to take the photo). It was very good and a huge portion as well. There was actually enough for a serving meal. If you’re in the area try it. You’ll need pleasantly surprised

I had really high expectations, but this place was a huge disappointment. I came specifically to try the seafood platter for two—while the portion was generous and the presentation was impressive, the food was overwhelmingly salty. It was so salty that when I tried to reheat the leftovers, I had to boil everything in a pot of water just to rinse off some of the salt—yet it still tasted unbearably salty.
To make things worse, the seafood wasn’t fresh, especially the lobster. I wasn’t expecting a live lobster, but what I got was far from acceptable—the meat was so mushy that it was obvious the lobster had been dead for quite some time.

Had dinner here last night and the service was so BAD! The waiter was nice but had to repeatedly ask for whatever we wanted that mad feel like a pain in the butt like asked 4 times for napkins then asked a diet soda and a coke brings out a ginger ale sir what about about the diet and coke oh sorry 20 minutes later still nothing same with coffee had to ask multiple times to clean up the food from the table so on and so on. All tho food was good.

It's a really formal dining and then they have a very not formal takeout. It's super interesting. The food was great overall but their rice was dry and the steamed vegetables were pretty crappy. The lamb was good so I'd come back here for that again.

Great flavors on the food
But:
Always a smoke smell inside, needs a better exhaust system
your will be very smoky smelly on your clothes all day . One the weekend is even more smoky
It’s one of the reasons I stop going here.
