I go here a lot, basically a regular. So, my sister got me an online gift card and apparently I can’t use it as this location for some reason, they say they don’t accept it. The only way is to have bought the gift card at this location physically and which can only be used at this location. So now I have to go to a different location when this one is by my house. Is as if this manhattan bagel was a fake and only using their name, if you notice this is the only location you can’t order online through their website, makes no sense.

This Manhattan Bagel was much better than the one in Bayonne. I had a gift card they accepted, not like the one in Bayonne. You think if you got a gift card to a store, they will accept it.

One of the worst MB locations I’ve been too. No gluten free bagels. No fruit. Paid $12 for a wrap. Maybe 1 egg white on it & ALL wrap. Where’s the egg??? What did I pay for? Self serve Iced coffee also horrible. Take notes from Fairfield location.

Disappointed by Poor Service and Disrespectful Treatment
As a healthcare professional who works long, demanding hours, I often stop by local businesses to grab a quick bite after I rest from my shift. Today, I stopped by this bagel shop mid-morning, hoping for a simple, welcoming experience. Unfortunately, what I encountered was deeply disappointing.
Not only was the customer service cold and inattentive, but there were also clear signs of biased treatment. I didn't notice that it was a hand written sign requesting customer to acknowledge the staff to toast their bagel, I was never asking but if I buy a breakfast with eggs and cheese bagel why I should be know that I need to ask for that. Then when heard that another customer was inquired by the person collecting the payment I just make clear that of course I want my bagel to be warm and toast and I received a very mean and nasty response. As a customer investing in your store just a simple acknowledgment. There was no excuse for the dismissive tone or the reluctance to serve me, especially when the shop was not busy. It felt personal and as uncomfortable as it is to say, it seemed racially motivated.
No one should be made to feel like they don’t belong especially in a public place where respect and basic courtesy should be standard. I expected better from a neighborhood business. I hope the owner who was the one displaying this inappropriate behavior and staff reflect on how they treat all customers, regardless. No wonder why was empty!
This kind of treatment has no place in our community.

I will never go to this place again. This was my favorite to go place for my break. I love the food but the Japanese guy damn near threatened me today. Guess I'll have to try (Toasted)

The Asian guy with facial hair and glasses was very rude when he was taking my order at the register just because I didn't hear him the first time telling me that they were out of everything bagels and he didn't want to repeat himself so he rolled his eyes at me. Great food but bad service.

The Indian looking woman at the cash register was rude to me today. I came in to pick up my order and I inquired about it and she RUDELY told me to wait while she was done taking another customer’s order. However, when she was done taking the customer’s order, she STILL DID NOT HELP ME. She just stood there quiet ignoring my presence, not making any attempts or efforts to acknowledge me. Her male co-worker ended up assisting me in a nice manner. Maybe because I’m Hispanic and the customers were white, I was treated differently!
