River View East, a long-standing restaurant in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, is known for its chilli hot dogs and friendly service. A visitor from 2018 became obsessed with the chilli hot dogs and appreciated the warm and welcoming staff. The restaurant offers hot dogs and burgers with a large patty, seasoned and cooked well. The all the way dog, topped with chili sauce, onion, and mustard, was so good that it made the list of top ten dogs in 2022. The all the way burger, also with chili sauce, mustard, and onion, was a top ten for sure. The fries are fresh, crispy, and have a hot mushy potato center. However, the roll for the hot dog is basic and the burger is more expensive compared to other spots. Despite the higher cost, the burgers are larger here. Overall, River View East is a solid stop with delicious food and great service. It is sad to see it closing as it has been a great part of many people's memories in Elmwood Park.
