So glad I didn’t let the 4.2 star rating deter me from checking Blue Akai in Englewood out. I’ve been here 3 times this month, brought others with me and all enjoyed. I love the concept, half Mexican half Japanese where you can order from both menus regardless of which side you’re seated in. Love that they have “not raw” sushi options on the Japanese menu and the chicken empanadas on the Mexican menu had a unique, creamy filling that was delicious! Complimentary chips and salsa, great service, full bar and tvs to catch the games, so on & so forth. I have no complaints!

The food had no flavor the wings were horrible. The manager Andy should be fired. We all ordered the salmon, avocado salad. The salmon was not fresh, The manager took my whole plate away even though I told him I’ll keep the salad and not the salmon. The bar may be the only thing keeping this place afloat.
Food is great and the atmosphere is spectacular

I have always been a Blue moon customer in both Englewood and Wyckoff. I visited the Englewood location recently because I was in the mood for sushi while the family all had the mexican menu. The sushi was great and had no complaints there. What is disappointing was $10 kids mac and cheese with no side dish choices like french fries or applesauce which they used to provide in the past. It's a little absurd to charge $10 for a kraft mac and cheese that costs $1.99 and your portion is a small cup. Lastly the chicken amount in the burrito was minimal and the margarita lacked tequila. We just expected more from such a long standing establishment.

A very nice dining experience. A little pricy but the food was very good. The staff was very accommodating. I would go back when looking to switch it up.

Been eating here for years, the place may be under new management, but the Mexican food is still the same. My one gripe with the restaurant is the lack of quality napkins, your only given one and the napkins are subpar. but everything else is amazing.

I don't doubt that this is a good place to go for drinks, but if you're coming here for food, I would consider going somewhere else. My $20 chicken fajita sandwich was so bland in flavor that I thought I could have gotten something better at Jersey Mikes or Subway for a fraction of the cost. I do apologize for being a bit scathing, but in general, if you charge as much as you charge for food, you should really be sure the customer is getting something good. The Mexican corn appetizer was also the most unseasoned version of elote or Mexican street corn ive gotten anywhere. It's such a shame too because there are so many tasty Latin flavors out there and all of them were missing at this restaurant. The manager walking around checking on us was very attentive and kind, but I'd recommend charging less or improving the quality.
