After a lovely evening seeing Herbie Hancock perform at the Bergen Performing Arts Center, I went to Mexcal for a late dinner and nightcap. I sat at the bar and ordered a veggie enchilada. I've been vegetarian since 1991, 34 years, more than half my life! I was served a chicken enchilada. I took one bite thinking it was vegetarian and then told my bartender/server that I would not eat it. One bite, no big deal (except for the chicken), I told him. It's wasn't the first time. He returned a few minutes later with my veggie enchilada. No water served, btw. When I received the check, the restaurant was still charging me for my two cocktails and enchilada. So I thought I would politely suggest to the bartend that he at least buy me one round. I managed restaurants for 11 long years and would have figured they'd have bought me a single drink at the very least. That's why we had a nightly comp check. So my bartend went to ask his manager (in itself, pretty sad) who said NO. I was icredulous, but not all that bothered (for the record, I was super nice to the bartender the entire time). He did offer to buy me a third drink, which I declined since I was driving back to NYC. I still tipped him 18% after he borderline insisted I not tip him. Nevertheless, I write this to highlight this minor YET total failure of management. I would not be writing this review if he/she'd done the right thing. I will not ever return to this place and I will remember this experience as one of the douchiest, most ignorant restaurant management style experiences I've ever had. Pretty pathetic. I urge readers to look elsewhere.

Came here before the Hanson concert last night and not only was the food and service incredible, but they played their music in the bar area!! Everyone was in great spirits enjoying themselves! Wish we lived closer! Great food and really enjoyed the âHalloweenâ ish decor. So fun! Thank you!!!

I was hoodwinked at the place. I went with my wife after we caught a show next door at the Bergen performing arts center. We wanted to eat so knowing it was late o asked if I could order food. The hostess said yes sat us down with menus. Our waiter came next she asked us if we wanted water I said yes and she took our drink order. She came back with a bottle of Saratoga I was expecting tap water opened it and poured and it wasnât until then that we were committed that she said oh by the way or kitchen is closed. So I ended up having to pay for this ridiculous bottle of water and two drinks I would not have ordered if I wouldâve known the kitchen was closed. To add insult to injury the tip was included and the margarita was a watered down sugary thing that would not pass for a margarita in any half decent Mexican restaurant. Would not recommend. Oh and it was loud as hell.

We tried to go in this facility last night while visiting the pac. We were not greeted. There were two or three employees, including a bartender that saw me and my guest and didn't even say hello, they looked at us like we were aliens of some sort. We were the only two caucasian people in the place.So i'm guessing that they only catered to mexican people or hispanics, because that's what the crowd was. Of course, we said nothing turned around and left. It was very rude, unprofessional, and I wouldn't dare give them a dollar of my money ever. Couldn't tell youhow the food was because we didn't get to try it.

I love going here it's a nice spot to go to good food the service is great They have Happy Hours and they have good music ..
The aesthetics and atmosphere were nice. The drinks were terrible. I tried 2 different drinks and they both had a strong repulsive taste. I drank the second drink only because I did not want to tell the waitress that I also did not like how it tasted (for the second time). I had al pastor taco and it was bland. The only thing keeping this place open is the aesthetics, location and high prices. They need a new chef and to add flavor to their menu. Also, I encourage them to taste test the other taco spots in Englewood.

Been here a few times over the years - pretty cool spot to stop in for a drink if you are out & about in town. Only food we had was chips & salsa which the salsa was good but everyone in my party agreed the chips were a bit stale. We had shown up just after opening for the day so possibly were chips from the previous day - which should be fine if they are correctly stored. But I suspect these were not correctly covered/sealed between days. Overall I'd definitely go back if I was in the area.

Would like to come back and try this spot again! Was really busy when went here, I think the servers and staff were overwhelmed. A show just got out and we waited a while. The atmosphere seemed really fun, loved the music, wall art and how it was decorated. Will be back and have to try a marg and food!
