I ordered steak fritti. It was very good. The only thing is that they don't have is other side dish than potatoes. As a guy who avoid carbohydrates, I recommend the restaurant to add other side dish then potatoes. Like grilled vegetables, or salad.

My favorite lunch menu 3 courses for $45. I always get the long hots as an appetizer and the rigatoni is delicious, end with and affogato and you're set. Get the creamed spinach too!

The service was great and my waiter was fantastic. The servers who brought out my food were very attentive and polite. My food was delicious and cooked to perfection!! My partner and I had went and he ordered the Sicilian rice balls. I don't eat them because I don't liked them, and the waiter asked why I didn't eat it in a rude manner. I ordered a steak medium well, and it came out burnt and raw in the middle. It was oily and had no flavor. The only thing I liked from my meal was the mashed potatoes, it was good. It was a beautiful place with cute drinks, but the steak I would not recommend.

Great city vibe right here in Bergen County! Tasty food, great atmosphere along with a lively bar area and even a cigar bar ā great for conversations and meeting people.
All 10ās !!!! Food is great well seasoned without being salty ! Service impeccable . Took care of everything and did everything before I needed it done. The decor is great cool ambiance . We will be back loved it here

We made a 7:00 PM Friday night reservation at Sophiaās before attending a local show and had very high expectations for what is advertised as a steakhouse with a speakeasy vibe. Unfortunately, the experience was miserable from start to finish.
At no point during the reservation process were we told that our table would be in an enclosed outdoor patio. To reach it, we had to walk through the smoking lounge and the entire restaurantāonly to be seated outside in 10-degree weather, in December, with inadequate heating. Every guest in the patio area was wearing coats and clearly uncomfortable.
The space was also extremely darkāso dark that we had to use the flashlight on our phones just to see the table. When we asked to be moved, we were told there was nowhere else to sit. We attempted to move closer to a heater, only to find one was off entirely and the other kept turning on and off.
By the time our food arrived, we could barely enjoy itāpartly because it was difficult to see, and partly because we were physically freezing. My feet became so cold that I had to tuck them under my jacket on my partnerās lap just to tolerate sitting there. The food itself was subpar: appetizers and salad were disappointing, and while the steak was okay, it was hard to enjoy anything under those conditions.
To make matters worse, the bill came to nearly $300, which felt completely unjustified for the quality of food, service, and overall experience. When we asked our server for the check (and cream for coffee), he began cleaning tables instead. The table next to us was also waiting for the same server to bring their check so they could leave and escape the cold.
This may be an enjoyable experience for guests who want to sit inside and smoke cigars or cigarettesābut if youāre making dinner reservations, it is incredibly unprofessional not to disclose that guests may be seated outside, in the dark, and in freezing winter temperatures.
Transparency matters. Had we known what we were āgetting into,ā we would never have booked. This was, unfortunately, a terrible and uncomfortable experience that fell far short of expectations.

Disappointed after my recent dining experience.
We made reservations on 1/13 for a Saturday night dinner ahead of a show at the PAC on 1/24. We donāt get out much these days as new parents so we were really looking forward to our dinner here. We dined at Sophia once before (11/2022) and really enjoyed ourselves.
We were sat in what was practically an enclosed porch. The temperature outside was below 15 degrees. The few heaters around didnāt compensate for the chill through the room. We couldnāt remove our coats the entire dinner and felt we had to rush due to how uncomfortable we were.
The room quickly filled with other guests who seemed to feel the same. They asked for warmer seats and were moved, but kept their jackets on all dinner long. It was uncomfortable and took away from the experience.
The food (pasta dishes) were smaller in portion than I remember and lackluster. I could have made better at home.
The best thing was the French onion soup. Even though it was $17, it kept me warm.
Our server was kind and tried his best, but seemed spread thin. It took our entire dinner for a second drink to come out. I requested parmesan cheese for my pasta and it never came.
I reached out via phone and a contact form on the website, but didnāt receive a response. For the amount paid, you expect a high end dining experience and this was anything but that. Next time we are in town, we plan to try another restaurant.
I donāt recommend anyone dining here in the winter due to the good chance of being sat practically outdoors. They are sacrificing the comfort of their customers to avoid refusing reservations (more $$$).

This restaurant offers an excellent cigar lounge that creates a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. Itās a great place to unwind, have meaningful conversations, and even conduct business deals in a comfortable setting. Whether youāre meeting clients or spending quality time with friends and family, itās an ideal spot to hang out and enjoy the experience. Also, the truffle Taglietere and burrata were amazing!!!! Food here is always delicious

I was captivated by the narrow hallway with a cigar and wine storage area leading to a secluded lounge.
While most places are reluctant to even serve a glass of tap water, I appreciate that they provide a full size bottle for the table. The server and bus boy were both attentive keeping my water glass filled.
The complimentary bread and breadsticks with the olive oil and marinara sauce was phenomenal.
I was definitely impressed with the ambiance and service, so I will definitely consider returning for a future visit. I will be sure to avoid the Palliard!

I appreciate the convenience of the valet parking and the elegant interior dĆ©cor. Itās a suitable choice for a business meeting or a more formal outing with acquaintances. I recall enjoying the food on a previous visit; however, during this recent brunch, it did not quite live up to my memory.

Sadly, I did not pick the best entrƩe. The chicken definitely needed a fair sprinkle of salt and peppers as I feel it lacked flavor.
Although the onions were sautƩed, they were not caramelized enough according to my standard.
I was definitely impressed with the ambiance and service, so I will definitely consider returning for a future visit. I will be sure to avoid the Palliard!
