We decided to shake up our date night and try something new—and La Cucina Nouveau absolutely delivered. Tucked along Route 9 in Morganville, this BYOB gem might just be our new go-to.
We kicked things off with the beef carpaccio special—paper-thin slices of perfection topped with salad and shaved cheese. Then came the artichokes in a buttery caper sauce that hit all the right salty, briny notes—made to be paired with your favorite bottle of wine.
For my entrée, I dove into black ink pasta in a spicy red sauce with red shrimp, and added a side of goat cheese (trust me, it’s a match made in flavor heaven). My husband tackled the Misto Trio—chicken, sausage, and filet mignon with long hot peppers in a rich ragù over mashed potatoes. He said he’d save some for later… but the plate told a different story.
Dessert was no afterthought. I had the blueberry tart with almond gelato (a dream), while Dave polished off a decadent flourless chocolate cake.
Our waitress Nina was a star—she gave the kind of mouthwatering descriptions that make you want to order everything. And the owner? A powerhouse of warmth and hospitality. She was checking in on tables all night and even sent us off with a hug.
La Cucina Nouveau is more than just a great meal—it’s a whole experience. We came in as first-timers, but left feeling like regulars. Can’t wait to come back!

Food was very good, the atmosphere, well let's say it in a strip mall, so typical. The service was fair although I was at a party. Not very friendly. Others at the party complained the management was rude. All said, it's worth the visit. The food was pretty good.

Excellent food quality, period. Good service and BYOB - huge plus. Beware of the CC fees and inquire about the specials' prices. I'd suggest for the Specials to be printed out and offered on demand. $48 for a Branzino and $60 for a strip steak seemed too steep.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. Amazing food with a home cooked feel. The bolognese and the meatballs were out of this world. It’s byob with liquor store next door.

A really nice family owned Italian restaurant and BYOB! Decent sized menu with plenty of specials. While the noise level may be high for a romantic dinner a group of friends would have no problem. The main reason I gave this restaurant a 4 star review is that I found the food although exceptional it is somewhat overpriced and higher than what is shown on their website for certain dishes! Still worth a visit!!!

The best meal I've had in a restaurant in a very long time! Beautiful and roomy interior, and handicap accessible. The Octopus appetizer (2) was as tender as I've ever had, was delicious as was the calamari. We were a party of 6 and all our plates were clean. 3 Specials were ordered, I ordered a Halibut special over a lemon artichoke risotto, magnificent! Desserts were also excellent and it's BYOB. We've already decided, La Cucina Nouveau needs to be revisited, it was outstanding.
If you're craving an authentic Italian dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute gem! The menu is a delightful array of traditional Italian dishes, each crafted with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. The service is impeccable, with staff who are not only friendly but also knowledgeable giving you the best recommendations. The food is amazing, but the desserts are to die for as well! This is a place where food is more than just a meal – it’s an experience. Salvina is a doll and always checks in with all of the tables to make sure everything is top notch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great time and a delicious bite to eat.
Party of 6, food was delicious. Appetizers were definitely enough for 6 people to share. The Chicken Milanese was the best I've ever had. Not one person in our party was disappointed with their choices of dishes. Sometimes even if you have a reservation on a Saturday evening you're not sat on time... but the food and service is worthy of the wait.
Took our reservation for 6:30pm on a Saturday night. Arrive five minutes early and turns out there's a huge line outside and a full restaurant inside. Try to check in and they don't even ask for our name. Clearly reservations are useless. All of those waiting have no idea when they're going to be seated, and we were told, after waiting 15 minutes, at least another 30 minutes before we would be seated. We left and had a great dinner instead at a nearby pizza restaurant.
Really, why take reservations if you're going to do this to people? You as a restaurant ruin people's evenings on a weekend. It's so inconsiderate and disrespectful of people's time.
Put yourselves in people's shoes, get organized, and be disciplined with taking restaurants and managing these reservations.
