I drove past this place after delivering something for work next door. I never saw or heard of the place before, even though I lived in Ewing for school for 4 years and currently work right in Lawrenceville now. The outside atmosphere of the place looked very historical and warm. I decided to look up the menu and thought it looked good, so I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. Neither of us knew what to expect. When we walked inside, we noticed the restaurant was cozy with a nice bar and a few tables to sit at. The music was playing faintly and was a calm and relaxing place to celebrate her birthday. The food was great too, french onion soup was one of the best I ever had, and our pasta dishes of penne vodka and seafood fra diablo were cooked very well. The waitstaff was great and the whole experience was worth the visit. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Nice, cozy place, but the menu was odd. Tried but won't be back.

We were seated in front of the French doors and it was a bit chilly. Waitress was slow to come over and was just ho hum. We thought that the food and drinks were over priced. The short ribs came out so quikly they appreared to just be reheated. The friendliest person was the guy who brought the box for leftovers and the check. The whole experience was very lackluster and not worth the money. It didn't help that there was a party of 4 nearby and the one person was very loud in his continuous story telling.

We love this restaurant so much!! The food is amazing, the portions are great, and the staff is incredible! The apps are wonderful, and I love the pork chop! We didn't love the wasabi Alfredo, but that is just our taste buds - you might love it! Will definitely be returning!

We went to Blooming Grove on Vday and had gone there 5 years ago on Vday, food 5 years ago was much better! The quality and presentation of the food has decreased. Service was great!

Love it here, great food! Just wish it wasn’t so cramped in there but besides that it’s adorable and the food is well worth the trip!

After multiple visits I can say with certainty that this place is consistently good and worthy of repeat visits anytime of year. A cozy fireplace room for cool evenings and a lovely outside patio when the air is warm. Food always good. Service most recently by Cole, for our party of six was excellent. Salads are ala cart. My hub enjoyed the onion soup and the Ahi I ordered was cooked perfectly. Rice spicy HOT. My portion was so big I had enough for lunch next day. Two gentlemen ordered the pork chops and cleared their plates. Really comfortable evening for a bunch of old friends and when we realized we lingered, probably longer than we should have after desert, we were comforted not rushed.

We were a party of six on a Thursday 6pm. No to many people there. The service was quick and not pushy. Everyone's food was great. Two in the group order the pork chops and the only thing that was left was the bone. My wife had the tuna dish that she enjoyed and had enough to bring some home. We were there till nine. We split the bill three ways. The bill included a 20% tip which was added in for parties of six or more and that annoying credit card fee but we paid cash ($180). We also had a few drinks and dessert.

Wonderful evening at Blooming Grove Inn. I've heard a lot about this restaurant lately through a FB blog of local restaurants and it did not disappoint! The service and food were excellent! We will return!

After passing the restaurant many times, and seeing the neat outside area and mansion like setting I decided to give it a try. The inside has a few dining areas and a nice bar and bar area (which was packed). We were seated by a faux fireplace on the cold night so that was nice. The menu is pretty straight forward. The night we went they had all you can eat prime rib! Drinks were good. The lobster bisque was velvety and delicious. The shrimp cocktail could have had more or larger shrimp for the $18 price tag. The tuna was ok. The prime rib was very good and perfectly cooked. The piece was big (10 or 12oz). That along with a salad, baked potato and veg, I did not have a second portion. Service was good. Could have had water and drinks filled a few more times...but overall fine. May go back for the happy hours and the outside patio.

Food was, as always, great! Wait staff very attentive. I enjoy the ambiance of sitting in the older area dining room. Love the coziness of it! Would love for BG to be back open for lunch!

Great food and service! There's two different seating areas and environments: a quiet country/chic dining room, and a dim speakeasy louge. Great for a romantic date night or fun low key evening out!

Got by-passed numerous times after arriving before someone finally came to seat us, even though we had reservations. After receiving our meals, I saw that the table next to us had Prime Rib which wasn't on the menu. I asked our un-attentive Waitress how they were able to get it, she came back with "it is listed on the website". I said "why would you not tell us about it?" to which she said "I didn't tell you our specials?' Hello... NO YOU DID NOT!

Meh. How this restaurant is rated 2nd in Ewing is beyond me. The food was mediocre. The onion soup was okay. The duck, which I asked to have the skin crispy, had just been thrown onto a hot grate leaving burnt skin where the grates hit it. Otherwise not crisp at all. I usually order duck this way and have never had that happen before. My wifes “risotto” seemed like rice that was mixed with way too much cream but certainly not a proper risotto. We won't be back.

Yesterday my family had a family lunch after a funeral at the Blooming Grove Inn. I want to say that Chas and his staff were amazing. Leading up to the lunch Chas was very helpful and responsive to all our questions and needs. The day of he and his staff person Amy, made sure all the food and beverages were promptly ready for our party when we arrived. He even made sure my son who has Celiac was accommodated with a special meal. The food was amazing! The place was decorated beautifully and very clean! Needless to say on a day that was very sad, Chas and his team made sure our lunch was delicious, the atmosphere joyous and our family and friends happy and content. I would highly recommend the Blooming Grove Inn for any of your events or even a date night! I can’t wait to go back! The penne vodka was superb!!!
