I usually don’t leave reviews regarding this diner because I don’t dine-in as much but I will, only because this particular issue annoys me.
Today , on 10/20, I arrived at the diner at 3:44-3:45. I tried to open the door but it was closed. I knocked on the door and the receptionist answered the door and told me they were closed. It’s confusing because they close at 4:00, not 3:44 or 3:45 or 3:50, 4:00!
All I wanted was some burgers to go, but that’s not going to happen ??. If they are going to close early they should leave a post on the door or website saying “ Last service is at 3:30” or “Kitchen closes at 3:30”. I saw several people still eating well after I got there, I think they could have cooked up 2 burgers for takeout. ????

I had a very good experience at Fair Lawn Diner. My friends and I went for a late dinner and tried the banana and berries crepes. Our waitress was named Mila, she was very sweet and the service was awesome. I recommend Fair Lawn Diner very clean and great food!

I had high hopes but unfortunately that's all they were. Burger was so water logged that it took multiple napkins to soak it all up on the plate. Heard that their breakfast was ok but I doubt I will be back to try it.

This is the first time I've come to the Fair Lawn Diner after the change in ownership (as it was the Empress Diner prior).
Everything seems to have improved. The renovations make the space look nicer, the service is friendly and prompt, and even the food seems of better quality.
However, the prices have also expectedly leveled-up: I ordered three pancakes with strawberries ($13) and my daughter ordered three pancakes stuffed with cherries ($14). Also, tea ($3) and hot chocolate ($4). Pancakes come with "breakfast syrup" packets :-/
Everything was delicious, neatly plated and came out quickly. I get that everything, especially eating out, is more expensive these days but I think the prices are a bit much. A simple pancake breakfast with my daughter (including tip) cost nearly $40. Although the food was good, I took a star off for price, resulting in 3 stars.
If you can afford it, the Fair Lawn Diner could be for you.
