Spent way too much money for pastries that were not fresh at all. Crumb cake hard as a rock. The absolute worst tricolor cookies I’ve ever had. Not fresh, hard and dry! I’ve never liked this bakery, Pinhos is the best! Never again I’ve tired several times and nothing has changed!

I stopped by this bakery 15 minutes before closing to get a birthday cake for my friend. Despite being so last minute, the staff patiently helped me choose a cake and even decorated it. They have a wide selection of cakes to choose from and the one I ended up picking tasted great. I will definitely be visiting here again!

Can't figure out how they decide who gets waited on. 3 people helping one customer. Nobody greeting anyone. Service seems random.

I just left after not being acknowledged, and passed over. Got frustrated trying to figure out how they decide to serve customers and why the entire counter staff is helping one guest with a small order.

I went in the evening. Probably not their best shift working.

Won't be back.

I've been going to Calandras for years now and it's been going downhill. Pastries are extremely expensive and never fresh anymore. Ordered a brownie that was hard as a brick and tasted like a refrigerator. For the prices that they charge, this is unacceptable. I don't mind paying top dollar for something that's fresh. Very disappointing. Now I'll drive farther to a bakery
that is double the distance just to get fresh products.

I’ve been coming here for years and last time I was disappointed but wanted to give the benefit of doubt. I got a pecan pie today and though it looked done but it was very runny inside and the nuts tasted half cooked. For $21 I was expecting it to be better than a Shoprite pie, but it was worse. The person who helped me also just put our packages on the counter and left without saying good bye. This definitely doesn’t feel like a home town bakery anymore and think my family has to move on.

I've been a loyal customer of Calandra's Bakery, Fairfield, N.J. for 19 years and sadly I need to share my disappointment with there product lately. Today I purchased one of their delicious "Pepperoni Bread's" only to find that Calandra's Bakery is skimping on the amount of pepperoni. Perhaps they should change it's name to "2% Pepperoni, 98% Bread".

Extremely rude attitude by one of the girls working there. Not the 1st time this has happened by the same employee.

Disappointing Service Despite Long-Time Loyalty.

As a Fairfield resident and a loyal customer of Calandra’s Bakery for over 20 years, I am deeply disappointed by the consistent lack of professionalism displayed by one of the employees. Every time I visit, I encounter the same girl—she has black hair, glasses, and pink highlights in the front of her hair—who ruins my experience with her rude and dismissive attitude.

It’s frustrating to be treated so poorly when I’ve been supporting this bakery for decades. Her behavior stands out in stark contrast to the quality I’ve come to expect from Calandra’s. I’ve overlooked it multiple times, hoping it was just a bad day, but it happens every single time I visit.

I genuinely enjoy the bakery’s offerings and want to continue being a customer, but this ongoing issue makes it difficult to feel valued. I hope management addresses this problem so other loyal customers don’t have to deal with the same sour experiences.

This is my favorite bread in NYC! It is truly the perfect consistency, chewy yet soft. I buy it at my grocery store in astoria and it is always selling out. Please never stop delivering there!!

Delicious cookies and pastries. Can’t go wrong with the “mini” sizes if you get several kinds of pastries for a large group. Love their lemon “snowball” cookies, chocolate covered pretzels with m&ms, cannolis and eclairs, and fruit tarts. Will definitely be returning here.

I love this place. They made our wedding cake. However the day before Thanksgiving on November 27, 2024 at 3.38pm they had no more pumpkin pies? In all the years we came here, this is a first. You were a 5 star but today you became a 3 star.
