Very bad hand hygiene on the part of whoever was preparing food on Saturday July 20th. I normally never eat out and prepare all my meals at home, but I wanted to treat myself, so I went to the McDonalds and ordered some sandwiches and fries. Three days later I had to go to the emergency room, where I tested positive for C. dificile, a bacterial infection that causes extreme diarrhea and dehydration. C. Dif is spread fecal-oral, meaning someone hasnât been washing their hands after using the bathroom, and then going to prepare food. Fun fact about C Dif for the employees- hand sanitizer doesnât kill it. Thatâs why you HAVE to wash your hands after using the bathroom. Hand sanitizer wonât cut it. Unfortunately this incident even affected my job. I had to take a week off and am now having to apply for disability. All because one person in the kitchen couldnât bother to wash their hands.
