Ordered the Maiko Special. The matcha ice cream was absolutely delicious—rich, earthy, and the highlight of the cup. The mochi was also a great touch.
​However, the dessert's structure falls flat. Because all the ice cream sits on top, once it's gone you're left with a dry, bland bottom layer of plain corn flakes and flavorless agar agar jelly. Additionally, the red bean could have been softer.

Matcha Cafe Maiko is a cozy cafe in Fort Lee that’s all about matcha and Japanese-style desserts, part of a broader chain known for its matcha treats and soft-serve desserts.
