I had high expectations because I heard the owner is Korean and the food is delicious. I went for lunch, but why is there an egg on top of the steak? Rice, salad, and kimchi were served as well. It was a rather unusual combination. The steak was also just average.
This is a steak house that you must try at least 1 time whenever you have chance visiting New York. The atmosphere may or may not be in your desire way BUT, it won't hurt your feelings to taste the great food and enjoy the professional service. Try it and you won't regret it.
Rating this a notch above my gut reaction because the potential here is real. I went through a few cuts, the filet mignon, lamb, and strip - the doneness was a little inconsistent, a touch more rare than the medium-rare I ordered. Minor gripe, though, because the Korean fusion dishes are the real headliners here - kimchi carbonara is delicious. Service was quick and attentive, and the whole place has a quaint, unpretentious, neighborhood-steakhouse vibe rather than anything fussy....
