I am not sure if they changed owners but, lately the quality and quantity of the food has diminished, i always order the same thing from here - MOFONGO DE CHICHARRON DE CERDO- and i used to love it and i didn't mind paying for it, because it was a good portion and the chicharron tasted amazing it was my favorite part!. i order it today and not only the portion was a lot smaller than what it used to be, but also there was no chicharron, it was only chunks of fat, no meat not anything fried chunks of fat - and i get it chicharron is supposed to have fat, but this was straight fat and no chicharron, super disappointing that i paid the same amount for a lesser quality product.

I asked for a lunch for 8 and they gave me 20
The best. Services. Exquisite food, good price, hygiene. The best. Flavor that I could approve. I recommend him as an official motocross pilot, El Onionro 30.
Have been feeling home sick these past few days and this hit the spot. Their moro de guandules tastes just like my aunt’s, the pernil was flavorful and crispy, and the maduros were sweet and tender.

Very expensive, little food and the younger women are not friendly. Go to Johns Fried chicken in Cliffside park, they give more food for the same price and if there is a problem they solve it easily.

Authentic delicious Dominican food. I’ve been coming here for years, probably over 7 years. When I had my first born, my first meal post birth was Punta Cana. It tasted like heaven. It was good then and still good now. My fave dishes are the 3 golpes, bistec, ensalada de papá, moro and absolutely love their berenjena!

This review is long overdue!
We moved to Fort Lee 4 years ago and were so happy to find Punta Cana on the day of our move. We ordered several lunch specials for our family and movers. Everything from the carne guisada to the rabo with moro de gandules was 10/10. Fresh and good portion sizes. On busy week nights we order the family special which includes a whole rotisserie chicken and feeds our family of 4 with leftovers. Food is always tasty and the restaurant is clean and service is efficient. They also make an amazing mangu con tres golpes! Highly recommend.

Food tasted good but they give VERY cheap portions, even of white rice when most restaurants usually give you too much rice. $15 for “lunch” special white rice, beef and 3 tiny pieces of sweet plantains. This is beyond inflation and food being expensive, it’s purely cheating your customers.
UPDATE: CHILDISH response from the owner suggesting I can’t afford to eat out 😂. Super unprofessional, no wonder you only have 3.9 stars. FYI, i have given MULTIPLE restaurants 5 star reviews and only take time to write reviews when the experience is EXCELLENT or is BAD, in your case, TERRIBLE. Price gouging deserves to be called out. Grow up and focus on providing customers with what they’re paying for then maybe your restaurant will be in the 4 star range one day.

Imo the best Dominican restaurant in the area especially for the price. This rating comes from the flexibility they have to how quick they provide you the food. I’ve never dined in, I always prefer to order out so I cannot speak on atmosphere but everytime I call everyone is so nice and helpful. If you’re stuck between Elsa’s or here? Please chose punta Cana, Elsa’s would make you pay for a lil mojito that’s supposed to be free with the chicken.
