We had a wonderful first experience at Aoki. The directions provided after our reservation were very clear, so it was easy to find the location.
From the moment we walked in, we could tell how much care went into everything from the plates and water glasses to the interior design.
Every piece of sushi crafted by the chef was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The plating was beautiful and clean, which made the experience even more special. It’s truly rare to find a place like this in New Jersey. The ingredients were fresh, and we were able to try many unique types of fish that we don’t usually had before in NJ.
We chose the $200 omakase course, which offered a wide variety of dishes, all prepared with great attention to detail.
Even the dessert, handmade by the owner, was absolutely delicious. The warm hospitality made our special day even more memorable.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
Hands down THE best sushi/omakase spot in New Jersey if not even better than places in NYC, other places can’t even compare. It’s a small place which gives it an intimate setting where the chef really caters to you.
Skilled, experienced Japanese sushi Chef. Delicious seasonal Japanese fish. Beautiful tableware. Wonderful culinary experience!

Incredible gem in Fort Lee. Like others have stated, this resturant is what you would come to expect at a high end omakase.
However, what set this place apart is the lean operation between husband and wife. While Master Aoki Is focusing at the chefs table. His wife , I believe her name is Yoomiko(sorry!) Is tending to the customers, prepping some dishes in the back, and anything else that it needed. The price was also reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. Very traditional fare. The desert at the end was so tasty too!
My wife and I will definitely return!

I have been here twice now. Once in May of 2022 and now Today, October 2024.
It is the pinnacle of dining as you are welcomed into the restaurant. Each dish is explained and varied along with ample and flavorful toppings/zest/seasoning where applicable.
It's quite a small restaurant with only 10-12 seats max, but when the meal starts you will be quite comfortable conversing with fellow customers. I encourage you to try this experience and really hope you enjoy it as much as I did

Lovely staff, the receptionist is just a bless to work with: from calling them about info, making reservation, serving us table. She keeps smiling, very polite and treat everyone nicely. The chef does not talk much, only when introducing the ingredients( mostly from Japan). His skill is top notched, you can tell from the texture of the fish, all can be chewed and swallowed easily.
Temp is a bit too warm to my liking and is indeed very hard to locate the entrance even with the images provided by the lady staff. We have circled the place two times and by-pass it without notice 😅.
Great experience and great food.

It has been over two years since I visited Chef Aoki and his wife Yoomiko’s restaurant. The reason I visit this place once a month or once every two months is not only because of the friendly service, but also because of the food that always shows the thoughts and sincerity.
The reason I visit this place instead of the high-end restaurants in Manhattan with Michelin stars is because the restaurant’s persistence for traditional Japanese style that never gets old no matter how often I visit.
The table with high chairs can seat up to 8-10 people and it’s BYOB. If you are Omakase lover, enjoy this hidden feast from sushi expert -Chef Aoki. With the gentle melody of swing jazz in the background, I bet you will enjoy dining experience here as much as I do.
I always wish for the two to stay healthy, and as a customer, I cannot hide my greed to want to spend a long time with their service and food.
Parking: Paid public parking lot by walk within 1 min.

If you don’t feel like going all the way to the city, then this is a great place to go for omakase sushi! Husband and I decided to go with the $150 course and it did not disappoint. Chef crafted every sushi and appetizer with perfection and server was very generous throughout our time there. Inside the restaurant gave off relaxing vibe and almost felt like you were sitting in a sushi restaurant in Japan. Overall, great place for date night and highly recommend for anyone looking to dine in fort lee for top notch sushi quality!

First of all, the restaurant service is very good. The servers are friendly and always smiling. Also, all of the omakase prepared by the chef is so delicious and fresh. Highly recommended. It is worth paying a lot of money to visit.
It's definitely worth coming, especially on anniversaries.
Parking: The restaurant parking lot is very small, so you have to pay to park in the public parking lot next to it.

Nice small 15 seat sushi bar with high quality omakase. Entrance is from the BACK of the building.

Absolutely not worth the price. They charge $5 for extra ginger and don’t even serve tap water (you have to pay an extra $9 for every bottle of Fuji water). The restaurant doesn’t feel nearly as upscale as it should be for an Omakase experience. Will definitely not be returning.
