My wife and I have a getaway in Fortescue and go to Higbee's regularly for breakfast or lunch. When we go it feels like going back in time...to the good old days. The food is excellent and dependable and the crew of Betty, Bill, Cindy and the rest are fun and efficient.It's a real locals spot and also a required stop for the fisherman. A weekend doesn't go by that we don't stop in for food and conversation. Robeert & Floss
We had the great good fortune to be at Higbee's on Opening Day 2022. I was told there was a line at 6:30am -- I don't know…I wasn't up that early. All I know is we had a modest wait at 8:30am as the locals just weren't leaving! And the locals are a who’s who from Central Casting. It was a privilege to be able to grab a cup (or a gallon!) of coffee and hang out with them like we were a part of their family. A great place to stop. Good fresh salads and sandwiches. Fish platters are frozen battered seafood so not great. Seating is around a counter, so excellent conversation with other diners (not the place for an intimate meal for two). Good to get to know local news.
