Sophie's Bistro is one of our "goto" places. Always the best onion soup anyone will find anywhere, excellent service, a pleasant wine list and a talented barkeep. We had a variety of fish, chicken and beef dishes, all delicious, prepared as ordered and arriving at the table hot, as expected. We were heading out to a place where desserts were going to be given out, so we just had some coffees and cappuccinos. Don't miss Sophie's Bistro.

Our dinner at Sophie's was wonderful as usual. Sophie's is one of my wife's and my favorite restaurant's . We dine here at about once a month . We love the atmosphere and the food as well as the staff. We both had escargot for the appetizer , deliciously prepared and presented. ( Be sure to use some of the bread to enjoy the garlic butter sauce !! ). My wife had the Steak Fritis Vert on the menu and I had the Grilled Yellow Fin Tuna from the special's menu. Both dishes were prepared perfectly for us. We always tell our friends and family that if they want French Cuisine Sophie's Bistro in Somerset , NJ is the place to go.

It's been too long since we were last at Sophie's Bistro, and from the first few minutes I'm reminded of how welcoming the place is. The owner, Peter, greets us like old friends. My wife and I enjoy a cocktail at the bar, expertly made by Matt as we wait for the rest of our party. Once seated, we order up, never rushed. As for the food, to me it's French comfort food, nothing pretentious, just well prepared and delicious. We order the escargots, and mussels in white wine sauce to share. Dipping the perfect bread in the escargots garlic and oil, and the mussels white wine sauce is the best. Could feast on that alone. For dinner, our friends each order the pan seared salmon, my wife had the pork loin, all perfectly cooked. Any opportunity for duck, and I go for it with a glass of cabernet and was not disappointed. The service was excellent throughout. Enjoyable. Cheers!

Another great night at Sophie's. Everyone needs to visit Sophie's for their Spring Mussel Fest. A great price and a choice of one of six great mussel dishes each with a unique broth. Their featured wines are always very reasonable and good. We enjoyed a dozen escargot and then one order of the Dijon mussels and one of the Belgian Beer mussels. A little bit of heaven. Top off the night with a crepe suzette dessert special and espresso. The bistro ambience is charming, servers are always very attentive, and Peter is a wonderful host. A nice date night.

Escargot was delicious; solid wine list, owner stopped by with complimentary aperitifs. Bread was soft and crusty. One dish could have used a bit more salt but might have been personal preference. Yukon mashed potatoes were Michelin quality. They charge for bread refills and credit cards but have great free parking so its a wash. I will revisit to try more dishes and the dessert menu.

This place is a gem! We came for an anniversary looking for a cozy French bistro and this place did not disappoint. From the hostess, to the waitress, to the manager/owner, everyone made the experience that much more special. The food is great, portions are good, the drinks are great, and the vibes are intimate and romantic. A must try, worth the drive.

If you like French food, this one is pretty much the only good place in this region for it. We had dinner here on a Saturday night. It was 5:30 ish when we arrived and was luckily seated. The restaurant got quite busy as we finish eating, around 6:30-ish. The portion was very generous, from app, soup to entrees and desserts. For me, the duck breasts could be cooked just a bit longer, and I will ask next time, but since it was the first time, I asked for just chef’s recommendation. The flavor was very nice, a good balance of sweet, sour, and salt. The seafood pasta was extremely good. Every ingredient was fresh and perfectly cooked. We did not drink, but it looked like they have a good wine selection. They also have a special menu for Sunday brunch. We will come back for sure.

Me and my boyfriend came here for Valentines Day and it did not dissapoint. The waitress was super sweet and dressed like a clown which made it more fun! Everything we tried was super delicious, i got the mahi mahi and asparagus and my bf got the shrimp and duck for appetizers and entree. Honestly everything was plated so beautifully and every bite was packed with soo much flavor, it was just perfect, I highly recommend! The chef also greeted us at the end of our meal and thanked us for coming which to me shows just how much he loves his restaurant and was very friendly as well. Thank you to everyone that made this experience a 10 out of 10 for us!
