I found the crumb cake to be the way I remember it was great I was very disappointed in the Boston cream donut not enough filling they use to have so much filling that you had some with every bite that is no more I can’t say it was the best I think since it is new owners they got cheap on the cream

B&W Bakery used to be our place for 15+ years for Crumbcake. I am telling you it was the best. Since new ownership took over a couple of years ago the quality and customer service has gone down. The past few Crumbcakes we have purchased were not as good from years past with the cake being over baked, crumbs hard as a rock and today hardly any cake at all. Drove 15min to exchange for another and all the lady said was sir a Crumbcake is all crumb and very little cake. I told her I have been coming here for years and there used to be more cake than that. She said that’s what it is and I asked for my money back. A worker from the back came out said something in Spanish to the lady, she replied in Spanish and both looked at me. That was it. They could care less I was an unhappy customer.

Whatever I am about to say about B&W Bakery, I am quite certain must have been said many times before. This isn't some new-fangled, Tik Tok inspired bakery serving nouveau riche desserts for the in-crowd....but then again, it is.
This bakery is exactly what you would create if you were designing a bakery for a movie set and wanted absolutely nobody questioning its authenticity.
From the workers, to the owners, to the bakers, to the baked goods, B&W is as authentic as you can get...and it's the kind of bakery that is a dying breed.
For the past two years I have waited on a line in front of this bakery to purchase their INSANELY GOOD crumb cake...to bring to a family of people in Staten Island, who lived in Brooklyn and had a family member being them crumb cake every Sunday. They have been on a quest to find a crumb cake that was comparable to the memory of the one they used to have.
I went to every "great" bakery in NJ and brought a crumb cake to them from each.
The ONLY one they want, from now on, is the one made at B&W. Period.
Get in your car...it's worth whatever it takes to get there. Get ANYTHING. Brownies, pecan pie, etc. But do yourself a favor, get a couple crumb cakes...put on a pot of coffee and invite some company over. The cake will do the rest.
