Easily a gem of north Jersey for spicy Chinese food.
This place serves truly authentic Chinese food that reminds me of meals in China. The grilled fish is a standout, and the Laziji is especially delicious. It’s a favorite spot for my wife’s family when they visit. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Chinese flavors nearby.
This place is good to go if you like some spicy Szechuan flavor. They even have dishes that’s good for non-spicy water as well. Too many to listed but overall all dishes are tasty. Good service, good seating, no long wait for table.
The nuts plate was great for keeping our toddler busy while the rest of the food was getting prepared. Food was really good and only minor nitpicks.
Best local chinese food. Very nice eat-in atmosphere.
Nice authentic Chinese/szechaun food. Family style dishes. The dry pot was good. Everything else we ordered was also good. We got the beef flat noodles (they call it drunken noodles), bassa filet, and snow pea shoots (not pictured). Would definitely be returning if I'm craving Chinese food.
Service and food was very bad when i ask for payment they said no credit cards

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. ?
Hot Fish Sichuan Restaurant in Hackensack offers an authentic Sichuan dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with friendly staff and a well-organized menu. Must-try dishes include the spicy fish fillet, mapo tofu, and cumin lamb. The flavors are bold and true to Sichuan cuisine, with just the right amount of heat. While the service can be slow during peak hours, the delicious food and reasonable prices make it a great spot for a special meal or casual dining.

Food quality is the worst. My husband and I got sick and threw up in two hours after eating here. The Mao’s pork belly we ordered is pre-made and they don’t even heat it well. It was cold when served. The fish quality is bad too. Will never go back

We ordered the salt and pepper squid, 辣子鸡 and 四季豆. They provided a complimentary tray of nuts which served as a great appetiser. The salt and pepper squid was the perfect amount of chewy and the long beans were crunchy and well seasoned. The 3 dishes were more than enough for 2pax and the service staff were extremely friendly and on the ball. Would definitely come back again if we’re in the area !

We eat at Hot Fish quite often, and usually order the same dishes. I was lucky enough to be their "Tasting Panel Foodie" winner, and was invited to try some different items from the menu. If you want to indulge in an unforgettable gastronomic experience, you have to try the Fresh Striped Bass. I ordered it with spicy sauce, but there are six different flavors to chose from. We also ordered the Sliced Beef with Black Pepper. The beef was so tender and juicy, paired with onions and bell peppers in a savory, black pepper sauce. Then we ordered Dry Pot Cabbage, a mouth-watering Sichuan dish that you have to try. For our last course, we had the Yang Chow Fried Rice, the best I have ever tasted.
Thank you, Hot Fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the staff and service were exceptional. I highly recommend dining here when you are looking for a great Sichuan experience.
