Unfortunately some bartenders at good establishments get an ego and think they are the owners or treat you as if you went to high school together and they hated you and all of a sudden you showed up to their home UNINVITED...UNANNOUNCED...and said you were staying for the weekend. Based on that energy, I'd say this is a pass and please wave a middle finger in their direction if you drive by đ The food is STILL excellent and their typical crowd is chill so I'll say do it if you must but you should probably stand in solidarity with me and say FCK OFF SideBarđ

We had an amazing experience thanks to Ryan, the bartender! He went above and beyond to take great care of us throughout the night. Not only was his service exceptional, but he also made one of the best espresso martinis weâve ever had. Ryanâs friendly demeanor and attention to detail truly made our night special. Highly recommend stopping by!

I was in town for a wedding and was looking for a place on a Friday night that had live music, thankfully they were the only ones that did. It was a great little atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and attentive at the bar and the food was good. I got the short ribs sandwich. I only my only complaint if you could call it at that was the fries seem like they might have been a frozen versus a fresh cut fry. But definitely recommended would go again if I was back in town

Awesome bar! This place has a chill vibe perfect for a solo lunch break, friendly business drink, or a friends get-together. I saw all kinds of people when I popped in for a quick bite. This is obviously a neighborhood spot, but one you can feel comfortable in pretty much no matter who you are or where you are from.
The bartender JoJo was exactly what you want in a bartender, eager to get you a beer, give a recommendation, and put your food order in and friendly with conversation if you wanted it.
The food is approachable bar food, but not typical food (especially considerinf we were in Jersey). With a Canadian influence, the poutine is delish! With a Mediterranean influence, the lamb burger was flavorful and exactly what I wanted. From typical bar bites to unexpected international snacks, SideBar delivered on the comfortable vibe promised on their website.
Highly recommend if you are in the area. Parking is a bit wonky, but worth searching for the spot to pull up to this Hackensack gem.
Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't bring my children here. Very much an adult bar vibe. Make it a date night without the kiddos.

the staff is incredibly rude. They pick and choose who to be nice to and are known for âbanningâ ppl they donât like. I called today to ask if they have a French dip sandwich, the conversation lasted 20 sec. And went like this: Me: âHi, do you guys have a French dip sandwich?â
Female employee: âNo, not a sandwich. Sorry.â
she then hung up the phone. This place used to be good until the ppl working the bar became ruthless in how they treat their patrons. The food was always good but not worth being treated badly by wait staff. Donât waste your time theres plenty of better places with great service close by!

Great bartenders that make excellent cocktails. Happy Hour has some really great deals on draft beer and cocktails. Draft beer selection is a good mix of local breweries. Food is delicious. You can't go wrong with this place!
