Came here on Labor Day at 10:45, didnβt get food till 11:45. In the meanwhile, I asked for the eta of the food and got told that it is a holiday so the normal wait time is 30-45 minutes. People around us who came 15 minutes later got their food (same orders) before us. The eggs benedict came and it was completely overcooked. Probably the worst ihop I have been to. People were waiting to be seated for 10 minutes while the ihop was already empty and no one batted an eye.
Very disappointed in our visit. Weβve been in the past. But today was specifically bad. The server I believe her name was maya thatβs what the check said at least, was probably one of the worst waitresses Iβve ever had in my life!! It took 25-30 min from the time we sat down to get our drinks. Mind you we ordered hot drinks coffee and water. Then another server brought our food. She never checked on us once, our food was finished and plates stacked on the side of the table and she still never came by!! I watched her walk to two tables nearby and not come to us. I had to flag down another server to ask for our check. Seemed like a common problem as when we were leaving multiple people were complaining to the manager which I thought of doing but the complaint line seemed long and we already had our time wasted to I resorted to this review. Oh the food was also nothing to rave about we were disappointed for sure but the server never came by to ask.

IHOP needs to have a disclaimer under their sloganβCome hungry, leave happyβ which reads -this is a suggested expected customer experience and not at all guaranteed. Who ever owns this franchise must not care about it. There is no way he/she would have not have an onsite-visible manager, or asst. manager making sure operations are run smoothly that their patrons are having the experience that IHOP advertises. The waiter did not hear me when I decided to change my order and instead he brought out an extra meal that I had originally cancelled. I assumed he would just take it off the bill, instead he informed me that he had called his manager and the manager informed me that he could not remove the meal because it was βmy errorβ. This is the first time that I have had this kind of response from any restaurant. Apparently , the manager was also not on site and was called on the waiters cell phone. I asked the waiter to call the manager on his cell phone and put them in speaker and he stated that the manager told him they do not speak to customers over the telephone and suggested that I return tomorrow. This is totally laughable because I live in Pennsylvania and this Ihop is in New Jersey. the server also noted that the manager told him that that he could pack up the food for me so I could take it home! Skip this place!!! they seem very short staffed. The poor server was the only one working along with one person in the kitchen. The food took long to get to the table. Itβs obvious that they need help since they have the help wanted signs posted on front door. Poor customer service turns my stomach. I will never visit here again. I arrived at 4pm on a Thursday afternoon.

I really thought it would be a pleasant experience as my family came from Europe to celebrate the 2-year-old's birthday, but the experience was the opposite, slow drinks, a dish that didn't come out with the sauce. etc. good day
