I ordered a hummus bowl, and they gave me a rice bowl. When I asked, they were rude saying they gave me what I asked. Awful experience.

Went to grounds for sculpture and this place was near by so I took a chance. As an Afghan I can say this food is definitely not authentic afghani food or even close to it. It’s more like Pakistani food.
We ordered chicken kabob with rice. Price was okay and portion was okay. The food didn’t taste good. The rice was drenched in oil and the chicken was chewy. Definitely will not be visiting this place again.

This is our take-out review, from yesterday.
Decent menu selections. The variety of kebabs/kabobs leaves a place for improvement. We personally missed a broader selection of ground beef/chicken/lamb "seekh" kebabs. Their replacement, what Aryana proprietors call "kofta" is not exactly the same.
Budget-friendly pricing, almost. Definitely, somewhat cheaper than the original Afghan Kebab & Grill at Route 33.
The food tasted very good. The spiciness requirements were followed to the 'T', a big credit to the restaurant. The rice is very flavorful, and not too oily.
The portion size is more or less generous. The portions are not miniscule.
The naans are not really naans, sorry. There is no fluffiness inherent to naans. Their naans are more like a variety of their main bread product, pita.
All in all, 4 stars is a very good rating.

I've had a lot of Afghan food throughout my life so I was a little disappointed with the food here. I feel everything could use a little more seasoning. They only had one type of rice which is unusual at an Afghan establishment and it wasn't as flavorful. I tried the chicken seekh kabob, the chicken tikka, beef tikka and of these the chicken tikka was the most flavorful and tender - so I do recommend that. Also, the bolani was good. The burger was okay, I wish they used a more buttery bun. French fries are seasoned well and so crispy. And I will recommend the lentil and chickpea soup that comes as a side- both were simple yet very delicious. Overall, food is okay. I would eat here again if I'm in the area and need a quick Afghan fix.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch today. The food was fresh and excellent, the service was friendly and fast, and the owner was welcoming and made us feel comfortable. This was our first time visiting but certainly won't be our last!

This restaurant has nothing to do with Afghanistan. Please change your name because people are fooled.
The owner asked me to edit my review. Dear Owner, I am sorry that you are disappointed, but we were also very disappointed about the „Afghan“ dishes. The Bolawnie had nearly no potato inside and was fried in oil. Afghans cook it normally in a tandoor. The rice was overcooked and had strange spices that don’t belong in Afghan rice dish. We drove 12 hours from Kentucky to New Jersey to visit customers and we were so excited to eat Afghan food after such a long time and then being disappointed. To be successful with a restaurant it is essential to be authentic. Afghan kitchen is the most complicated in the world. You need long term of experience. If I wanted to start a restaurant I would do something easy like Italian or Mexican. If you want to stick with the idea of having an Afghan restaurant I would go there for a month and learn from scratch or hire an Afghan cook. Please don’t be too sad. The lamb shank was soft. That’s why I added one star for food.
