1) they take card now, which is amazing as I don't carry cash given how dirty it is and honestly unsafe.
2) the area is CLEAN, locally owned, lovely staff, efficient--5x faster than DQ.
3) the seating is far enough from the highway that God forbid anything happens, people are protected.
4) it's off a local highway and close to a few others. Yes, it's worth a 10-15min detour if need be!
5) I take my parents here weekly and they love it as well!

Old fashioned ice cream stand. Nothing has changed since 1972. The soft serve ice cream ("custard" in South Jersey ) is so delicious. Sundaes, dip tops, shakes, and a cute outdoor seating area. Cash only.
Good ice cream. The older lady at the front could use some customer service training.
" REPLY TO CUSTARDS CASTLE OWNER". I did not have a bad experience. The one woman in the front was a bit rude. It was busy out so maybe she was overwhelmed. No issue.

When going to Custard Castle, I would expect to see custard on the menu. I asked one of the employees what kind of custard they have, and they said Vanilla, chocolate, twist, and orange a flavor. When we got the “custard” it was just ice cream. I was very disappointed. Soft serve ice cream and custard are not interchangeable. The ice cream that my family and I got was very good, but not the custard that is advertised.
