Letâs start with the tomato-based. I donât know who in that kitchen decided enchilada sauce and spaghetti sauce were interchangeable, but they mustâve said, âYeah, thatâs good enough.â It completed the pasta more than the actual food I ordered. Fresh salsa? Nowhere to be found. This stuff made Pace Picante taste like a gourmet experience. Let that sink in.
Every bite had me asking myself, âIs this supposed to be Mexican? Italian? Or is this just punishment for something I did in a past life?â

Took my MIL here for lunch and wasn't impressed at all. I'm a native Texan and grew up eating authentic Mexican cuisine so the bar for Mexican food, even Tex-Mex is pretty high. The reviews and pictures for this place offer the promise of delicious food, but the expectation of such an experience was sadly not a reality for us. To start, the salsa literally tastes like tomato/ketchup water with some chopped onion and cilantro. I ordered queso for a starter because the salsa was a tiny cup and hardly big enough for 2 people to enjoy. When I asked about more salsa (salt and lime can usually save even the worst tasting salsa) I was informed it would be an additional charge đ„Ž My birria tacos came to the table hot, but the consomĂ© had a very odd flavor unlike anything I've previously had. The server was great and attentive, very friendly. We were the only table of individuals in the whole restaurant and it took quite a while to receive our food. This was a one-and-done experience for me. The quest continues for great Mexican food north of the Mason-Dixon.

My fiancé and I had dinner here and the food was really good!! We dined in and they brought chips and salsa to our table. I ordered a Steak burrito a la mexicana with habanero sauce which came with rice and refried beans (pictured). The habanero sauce was spicy (which the worker warned me it would be) but I love spicy. My fiancé ordered a regular steak burrito with tomatillo sauce which came with rice and black beans. He finished his entire plate! In the end we also ordered churros which came with whipped cream and some sort of berry drizzle. Service was quick and attentive. Definitely coming back again!
