Villaggio Iccara

Having had a positive experience at Villaggio Iccara once before, we suggested meeting there with family members who live at the opposite end of Jersey from us... meeting in the middle. We were even more impressed this time, & so were they! As you enter, there is a charming dining patio, laid out with shrubbery, a magnificent tree, & colorful umbrellas over each table. The interior ambiance is just as inviting, as the smell of great food greets you at the door. We were seated in the smaller 'wine room' off to one side, relaxed & semi-private. I visited the ladies' room, which can be the downside to many restaurants. It was beautifully appointed, & absolutely pristine! Our outstanding server Alex made several trips to confer with Chef about my food allergy, with impeccable good nature. He delivered the info on specials without skipping a beat, & was also able to help us select the perfect wines. Our food was beyond delicious. All four (different) selections exceeded our expectations! I must add that we dined on a Monday, often a 'down' night in many cases - especially when it comes to seafood. (Note: the restaurant was approximately 3/4 full, which speaks to its popularity locally.) I chose the crab cakes & didn't leave a crumb. They were nothing short of perfection. Chef even made a special light sauce for me. Unlike so many other places, VI does not need to overpower the unique taste of crab with heavy garlic nor Old Bay seasoning. My only complaint is that Villaggio Iccara is 45 minutes away from us, but without a doubt, we will visit again & recommend it HIGHLY to anyone who loves a great dining experience.

First time at this lovely restaurant and I will definitely go back. We sat outside, service was excellent, the menu had options to make anyone happy and the food was delicious. One of the best Italian restaurants in the area.

My first visit to this restaurant will not be my last. The food was terrific as was the service. Our waitress, Riley, was terrific. We had the Calamari Fritti and one of the specials with a caesar salad. The special, Veal stuffed with shrimp and a few other things, was delicious. We highly recommend Villagio Iccara!

Thanks to the Balsamo Family Villaggio Iccara is an absolute gem. Fabulous food created and served by people who do all they can to treat you like family. I have eaten there countless times and I have never once been disappointed. My expectation is always surpassed by my experience. I literally cannot wait until my next time there.

Our dinner was delicious. We began with an order of meatballs from the appetizer menu. A generous number of meatballs was nestled in a flavorful sauce with a hint of heat. We used the warm bread to get every last bit of sauce. One entree -a nice piece of salmon resting on a bed of roasted brussel sprouts and chickpeas, and a dollop of good mashed potatoes - was from the regular menu. A fine piece of sea bass with a citrus sauce and a tasty medley of vegetables was one of the day's specials. Both were excellent. Good espresso rounded out the meal.

First time I have eaten at this restaurant and it was excellent! Although crowded, the noise level was fine. Our waiter was outstanding! The food was delicious! The ambiance was perfect and although they were very busy, and there were many tables in the room, we never felt cramped or neglected. It is now my top rated restaurant !

We live in SC now but whenever we visit NJ we go to Villagio Iccara. Nothing has changed. Our meals were delicious, especially the risotto special. One of the things that stands out is the wait staff. They are always pleasant and attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I had a special, the prok chop was tender and marinated. My wife enjoyed a pasta dish with eggplant which was she enjoyed. We travel about 30miles to get there and always enjoy the food and service by the entire staff.

The food was phenomenal and the service even better! Jimmy was our server and he was so attentive, polite, and accommodating. There is such a nice vibe at this location. We were celebrating my birthday and it was the perfect evening. Thank you!

The food was delicious. The cacio e Pepe polpette was fabulous we were raving about it. Our entrees were also incredible. The value and quality of the meal was fantastic. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable of the menu. Definitely would come again!

we were a party of 4 and had 4 different meals and each was better than the other. excellent food , excellent service(Devon) and Vanessa and Christina will go out of their way to make sure we are happy.

Food was amazing! Wait staff disappeared for long stretches. Got there at 5:30, didn't leave until 8:00 due to our disappearing wait staff. Other tables came in after us and left before us. We were a party of 4, the table across was a party of 8, they were in and out. We didn't do drinks or appetizers, just salad, entrees and 2 desserts and it was a Tuesday! But seriously great food if you don't mind the long wait.

Villaggio Iccara has been a regular favorite for us. I have never had a bad meal or bad experience in all the years and many meals we've enjoyed. Their seafood is always excellent, and was again, last night. You cannot go wrong with any item on their menu, or from their specials. Reservations are highly recommended. We had a fine dining experience at Iccara Vilaggio Restaurant on Thurs. 22 Aug. The appetizer, "South Beach Calamari were really good. The main entree that I had was the baked Cod fish. The desserts were great. I enjoyed the lemon gelato, and the other guest enjoyed the Tiramisu. The rest of the luncheon topped it off with a double espresso.

Iccara's is our first choice for a great dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting. We have never had a bad meal there in decades. It is the go to place for delicious Italian cuisine.
