We liked the atmosphere at Augie's, but it is very loud. Food was delicious, but the main dishes took very long to be served. I think they were rushing to get the meal out to us and one of my friends had the salmon (it was very under-cooked and had to go back). I would try Augie's again. The food was very good. The waitstaff was very apologetic and friendly. It's just very loud.

We have eaten there multiple times, and I have to say- this time it seemed like the staff was just off- we felt rushed- example- Waiter stopped by and said he would be right back to tell us the specials- one minute later the hostess came by and asked if we were ready to order- and seemed annoyed that we wanted to wait to hear the specials. Food came out in a timely fashion and was amazing as always- then example two of rudeness by the staff- waiter asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu- we said yes, not sure what happened , but he never brought it- hostess stopped by and asked if there was anything else- we again asked for the dessert menu , which she reluctantly grabbed from the waiter and put it on the table- did they need our table and were trying to get us out the door ?

This was our first time dining here and it won't be our last. The food is absolutely delicious! Initially, we were thrilled to see all of the gluten free choices. Not only were there so many to choose from but everything we had was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My husband said his chicken Murphy was the best he ever had because the chicken was so tender. Everything from the bread at the beginning to the meal, the appetizers to the entrees was delicious! We didn't have room for dessert but will enjoy some next time.

This is a great small but large restaurant. We sat in the first room but the noise was overwhelming and conversation was difficult because everyone was shouting at their tables to be heard. I would go again if I could be seated in the other room. The food was good but not spectacular for the price. At least it wasn't like the restaurant group that seems to have pervaded the Northern Valley. I was appreciative of the selections for Gluten Free people as I'm one. Also I ordered the Zuppa de Pesce. It came in a huge metal bowl and would serve 2-3 people easily with a salad and an appetizer. It also should have been served with a spoon. The waiters were very busy so they didn't stop to ask if everything was ok and if anyone needed anything. If you are gluten free you need to bring your own bread to sip up the delicious broth. It's a byob which is great because you can choose your own wine and bring it. Also kudos to them as it was February 15 and people were still celebrating Valentine's Day so it was very busy. I must add that I always order mineral water when I'm eating out but they had none. The waiter was very gracious when I asked if it would be ok if I brought my own water in from the car. My group all said they would go back. They did not realize it was there. Go! Try it. I will go again.

Service was great, food was pretty good (I didn't love my dish - gnocchi in pesto sauce, the pasta was drowning in sauce, the noise level was deafening - there were times qw couldn't hear each other clearly (always a downfall of this location). The value can't be beat though.

I'm gluten free and Augie's has quite a few GF entrees. This time I had the GF La Zanabella, which is blackened chicken and roasted red peppers in a Parmesan cream sauce over rigatoni. The cream sauce was light. It was not a heavy sauce.

This is one of our go to places. The food and service are always good. In the colder months it can be drafty. Especially when the door opens. But the restaurant is beautiful. Never disappointed.

Thank God for our server Madison helping to make our terrible dinners better. She was very sweet and accommodating. Do not order any of the ravioli, salmon was very overcooked, eggplant tower was little bland, was cold and the tomatoes were hard and thickly sliced. The bread was good! Salads were good. And the shrimp dish was good. Not sure if we'll be back?

The service is not great. There were five of us there we ordered three appetizers. Each appetizer was brought out separately. I had to ask the waiter. What happened to the third appetizer and it finally came out. Then we waited a long time between the appetizer and the main course. Three times we had to the weight staff not to clean all the plates until everybody finish their meal. I have eaten at this restaurant previously, and I've always enjoyed the food. For some reason, last night, I did not feel the food was up to their normal quality.

If you have a hankering for a pasta dinner, head to Augie's! The atmosphere was cozy and chic. The big blue upholstered chairs were very comfortable and easy to relax into as I waited for dinner. And the pasta selections were many. We had the Tuscan pasta and the short ribs ravioli. Both came to the table steaming hot and both were delicious. We also ordered a caesar salad which was good, but not worth the $14 price tag. This seems to be the trend right now. I've dined at several places where the salad served was barely filling a salad plate, but the cost for the small portion was steep. That was our only minor disappointment. That aside, we enjoyed our first meal and Augie's. This is a true neighborhood gem!

The food was very good but they were short staffed and the service wasn't great Espresso was cold, the table had crumbs and plates that supposed to be cleaned by the waiter had to ask for

Overall it was a "reasonably" fine experience. The service was "reasonable" and the food was served hot and definitely tasty. We were last there when the restaurant was called Raw. The restaurant did not have truffle oil for the truffle mac & cheese and they also did not have sorbet available on the dessert menu. At the table next to us was a family of four, parents and two little girls. When one of the girl's food arrived, the waitress noticed that her pasta came out with tomato sauce instead of butter, the way it was ordered. The waitress offered to correct the kitchen error, and the little girl/parents said it was ok. These are little things that have subtle implications for the restaurant being just short of getting an excellent rating. There seemed to be only one waitress. When we arrived shortly before our 6 pm reservation the restaurant had only one other table occupied. Therefore, the restaurant was pretty quiet. However, it obviously got louder as it filled close to capacity around 7 p.m. I understand that a restaurant can/will run out of items that are on the menu, however, our reservation was for 6 p.m.

Food was good, service was a little slow, waitress was very busy. I would go back though. The menu is OK. Had the stuffed salmon and my friend had the stuffed shrimp. We enjoyed both. Not too many specials (maybe 2 entrees) and not too crazy about their app selections. I thought they were a bit boring, but we tried the meatball trio app, and that was tasty. Ambience is nice.

Sadly, this dining experience does not live up to my prior times there - the food was pretty meh - just lacking in flavor. I guess it's because Augie wasn't in the kitchen that night. Oh well
