We visited Joia Restaurant this past week and tried their Bacalhau à Brás and the steak. The steak lacked salt, and so did the bacalhau. But the bacalhau also lacked pepper. It was very bland. The atmosphere was good and the service as well. Staff was friendly and attentive. Their flan was also good and the prices weren’t outrageous.
I was charged convenience fee of 4% for noon cash payment, I know restaurants are allowed to charge credit card surcharge but it was my first time at Jóia Restaurant in Harrison, It is recommended that the website owner publish a post on their website so first time customers are aware of this fee before make the decision to make a reservation.
Great menu, not so much on execution. I took a large group before a Gotham FC game. Good flavors but the seafood in my paella was overcooked as well as the burgers everyone ordered. Fix those things and you have a solid meal.
