What a shame this placed is closed. This used to be my go-to bar. They have a great selection of beers and cocktails are delicious. There’s good local beers on draft here too. Food is good, though but nowhere near as good as the drinks. I miss the Trivia nights.

I can’t say enough about the Vanguard. It is possibly the last Tiki experience that you can get in New Jersey and they know how to make an excellent painkiller. The food is top-notch, the service is extraordinary and the bar is staffed by legit mixologists. as the only place that actually holds Sippin Santa in the Northeast, I pray to the gods of Olympus up above that they save this place from extinction. We cannot survive without a place to get Tiki drinks. We cannot survive without a place that has sippin Santa. Harrison needs the Vanguard.

Food was overall great. No complaints. Service was out of wack. Didn't seem staff even wanted there be there. Server was ok though.

It is a nice place went for my mother's in-law birthday. We were running a little late so we called to se if they could hold our reservation and they where a little rude about it, service was not attentive missed a lot of stuff, food took a long time and everything was very dry the pasta was raw and the stakes overcooked but what really made me feel bad was the rude conversation about running late and holding a reservation for an empty restaurant

Was decorated great for the holidays but the service was not great. Sat at the bar and the bartender seemed like he wanted to be absolutely anywhere but where he was. Food was pretty marginal. Wings were ok, had good flavor but were not crispy. Popcorn shrimp was as expected. Was looking forward to trying the seoul cheesesteak but it was not good at all. The meat was cold and the dish was so salty it was almost inedible.

Parking: There is a parking garage around the corner that you can park. They will validate 4 hours. After validation on your way out, you have 15 minutes to get your car out of the parking garage.

Got the worst food poisoning after having avocado toast and their side salad yesterday. I also have a peanut allergy which I don’t think they took seriously. Immediately nauseous after eating their food, chills, sweats and then vomiting.

I went for the Christmas pop up and I was sooooo disappointed. We were there in total for 3 hours because it took us 45 minutes to get our drinks and about an hour for the manager to ask us how we’re doing and that is when we told her no one has taken our order and she did. Our server wasn’t attentive at all we had to keep asking the manager who was helping out to take our dinner order and a different server to take our second order of drinks. The food was horrible. My friend and I both ordered a medium well steak and they gave it to us medium and it was super salty. I exchanged it for a burger and it was the driest burger I’ve ever had in my life. We also ordered the lava cake which had no “lava”. All around the service was horrible and the food didn’t make up for it.

The atmosphere was pretty great! We walked in and were initially told they were not taking walk-ins but we were welcome to the bar which was fine but the place wasn’t even remotely close to being at capacity or busy and we were there for roughly 3.5hrs watching sports, so thought that was odd (we later asked for a table and was provided one). Our server was not pleasant had to ask the hostess if she could find our server after we waited roughly 45mins after apps and drinks were dropped off at the table. My French toast was barely room temp and my side was cold as if it had been sitting out for hours. The best thing about the visit was the festive decor and the spinach dip. The manager came over and checked on us more than the server did which was helpful.
