Gems House of Bagels (RT-35, Hazlet)

This place is such an overpriced dump. Bagels are way short of sub par. Coffee is garbage. Kitchen workers look absolutely miserable and angry. Don’t recommend. If your taste buds were burnt off with a torch and you bit one of their bagels you’d still know it taste like trash.

My all time favorite place to eat in the morning, I absolutely recommend their Sausage Egg and Cheese on a Roll with Ketchup and a Strawberry Nesquik. Hot and fresh!

Parking: Tons of parking spots, especially in the morning.

Two things that always seem to stand out to me initially and the things I never forget, How I am treated and how was the food ? Both exceptionally pleasant. I'm not in this area much, but Gems HOB is definitely on my radar now. Hot Pastrami +Fried egg+ Provolone on Everything bagel + iced coffee reasonably priced too ?

Ordered Gem “burger” it’s just chopped meat, not an actual patty. It’s really weird too, I ordered from the 3 days ago and received a patty on the burger. Bagels themselves are okay, nothing you can’t find at any of the 500 other bagel places in the area. Do better.

The owner is a complete a hole. Bagels suck.

Would love to place an order but apparently they turn their phones off for some reason, forcing pickup customers to pay for price gouged online ordering.

phone conversation: “i’d like to place an order for picks up… BEC extra toasted bagel… like EXTRA toasted… like can you toast the bagel? yes the bagel can you toast the bagel”the picture is what i received. i highly recommend to the company that they invest in a dictionary and some training time to let the employees know what the word “toast means”… it’s either that or they should invest in some equipment that is able to toast a bagel. i did a little research and its about $20 for a toaster oven. it honestly would do them some good to buy one.the only reason i’m not giving 1 star and giving 2 instead is because one time a few months ago when i said “toast the bagel” they did toast it. so like maybe they can figure out how to do it again?

This place is awesome. I come in hre about two mornings a week to sit down in there really nice dining area and eat something great off heir menu.. they have a mural painted on the side wall of a nice cute city street.. it's so nice here. The service is great! The chefs know how to cook food here. Definitely a place you should stop an visit at!This place is awesome ??
