Food and service was great. Bathrooms need some attention. Graffiti on stall walls and dispensers are broken.

I have been coming to the Hightstown Diner in historic Hightstown NJ (founded 1721) since moved to Monroe NJ 3 years ago. I usually sit at the counter and like to watch the kitchen when the doors open. I receive the same timely service whether sitting at the counter on a round swivel bar stool or at a table. The owners and staff are extremely friendly, courteous, and always ask to refill your coffee or need anything else. You have the wonderful feel of a true vintage Diner like back in the late sixties and seventies, as well as cleanliness. The have a nice mixture of diversity and all ages, and enjoy watching the children on the weekend feeling special with their milkshakes. I can spend up to an hour and half easily on a Saturday or Sunday morning in conversation, relaxing, and enjoying the unique daily specials, and especially the breakfast skillet and crabmeat eggs benedict. The dinner fresh fish platter is also excellent. See you there!

We loved our dinners. And I want to correct a previous review: THERE IS WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: GO TO THE BACK ENTRANCE AND FOLLOW THE WALK!

Classic New Jersey diner including a wide array of choices, some breakfast, lunch and dinner foods. I enjoyed a toasted sandwich with well done fries. My food was served hot and was a plentiful portion. Our server was friendly and professional. I recommend this restaurant for diner style food.

I don't know. I ordered what I thought was going to be a nice big taco salad but it was a small dinner salad with very few Mexican ingredients. Food was not great. Service was a little slow. Atmosphere, kinda dumpy (terrible bathroom situation!)

We were driving through the area and desperately needed breakfast. My husband can’t have gluten and we were able to get breakfast sandwiches to go. Not only was the gluten free bread very good and not dry, but the food in general was amazing diner food! The manager was extremely accommodating and I’m so happy we stopped by.

Tripadvisor rated this diner as the best cheap eats in Hightstown, where my son and I were meeting, so I thought we'd give it a try. Mike40 is an awesome server, food in decent portions, tasting good, and reasonably priced. I tried a Cuban for the first time, and it was good enough I'd I'll have another some time. My sandwich was hearty enough to need a toothpick in each half to hold it together. It came with fries and a salad, although soups were also an option. The fries were good enough to not need ketchup. My son had Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and mozzarella sticks (6), which came with a dish of marinara sauce and were on a bed of shredded lettuce, which I added to my salad. Everything was the proper temperature, and tasted good. Counter stools, or booth seating, and highchairs for the little ones. Steps preclude wheelchair access. Adequate parking, and not far from 95.
