Fantastic fresh Mexican -- flavorful food, awesome salsa / guac and fantastic fish tacos!

Came here for the first time a few weeks ago and was excited to try a Mexican place in Hoboken that I hadn’t tried yet. Food and drinks were very disappointing, bland flavor that I wouldn’t expect at a Mexican restaurant. Service was great, though, very attentive staff.

Incredible restaurant - 12/10, Their margaritas are made to order and created fresh with only the best ingredients (shoutout to the homemade Hibiscus mezcal margarita). The staff is kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The food is homemade and absolutely delicious. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in town and in NJ.

After reading some of the reviews. I decided I had to say, I have no idea why people are saying the food is not good/awful. I definitely agree that finding Mexican food that is really good is hard to find. That’s why I’m going to say this. I’ve been to Baja, two times with a friend and we always sit at the bar. We have never had a problem with the service, but I can’t speak for what’s going on in the dining room. I had dinner last night at the bar. It’s my second time coming here last night. I had the chimichanga dinner. Absolutely delicious. Just not the chicken chimichanga. But also, refried beans, the guacamole, the chips and salsa. Basically what I’m trying to say. Delicious. I asked about how they made the guacamole. It’s homemade right along with the Tortillas. I’ve been to Mexico so many times. The first thing that came to mind is that I was right back there, because everything is so fresh and authentic. Also, have to give Cherie Our bartender two thumbs up. The margarita was so good. Probably too good. I would really like to get feedback from anyone that finds themselves in Hoboken looking for really good Mexican food. If I lived in Hoboken , I probably be there a little too much. Not just for the food but also the vibe of the atmosphere.Vegetarian options: I was quite surprised to find a decent amount of vegetarian dishes. Even though I’m not vegetarian.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp at the entrance of the restaurant. Plus, there’s outdoor dining.

Way to much attitude , The waitress was very unprofessional made us wait forever , the food was very bad, the soup taste like poop sorry to say it like that, glad I did not try it at all but when I saw my daughter in law and my daughter faces says it all. Then when I went with her to pay the bill she said my credit cards was not working and I was so upset about it and she was like I try I try and that is when I’m lost it saying to her this is soembarrassing cause I never ever experienced this in myLife my credit cards are good she try to then at the third time works what a joke cause this place should not be in business

First, the food was not only terrible, dry, with a strange taste, it was also over priced. The “chicken tortilla soup” was a joke. It was literally Salt water with Chicken fat and soggy tomatoes. All the 4 members of my family agreed that it was not even edible. I never return food but it was so disrespectful to serve this that I requested to return it and have it taken off the bill. That’s when the waitress came and stared me down for minutes and pressed me about my request. I was actually being nice bc we forced ourselves to eat the other food but could not bare the “soup” the waitress took it upon herself to punish us by taking forever to bring the bill and having a strange negative attitude the rest of the time. DO NOT GO HERE !

My worst experience ever was at this restaurant. The food tasted awful, and coming all the way from Boston, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone in the area. They took forever to bring the check, and their attitude changed when we asked them to remove the tortilla soup, which tasted terrible. To top it off, the server spilled all our drinks near the tree next to us, which was utterly disgusting.
