I had a baby shower for my daughter in law at Gran Vin. The planning was difficult because the event planner, Amanda was difficult to reach throughout the planning. We waited 5 days for an email response right before the event. The service staff was wonderful- very attentive and pleasant. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the reviews online. The food was barely warm and subpar. The omelets were thin, the eggplant was a 'disc' of eggplant with some cheese and sauce on top. The chicken francese was dry and roasted potatoes were mushy. We paid $4000 for 35 people and expected better quality. At the end of the party, Amanda was no where to be found and a waitress handed us our bill. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for even a meal and definitely not for a party.

The ambiance was nice and the food was pretty good but due to the service we experienced my party has decided that we will never return nor reccomend this spot to others we know. We had reservations for 9pm and unfortunately, we were not seated until 9:45pm. The host and hostesses kept telling us that the table will be ready shortly around 4-5 min but we did not expect a whole 45 min with a schedule reservation. In addition, they took an additional 45 min to make our food and by this time, my entire party was famished. I do appreciate the restaurant giving us a free round of drinks because they felt bad but no one should experience this. I wished they were honest that they gave our table away by mistake so we could've had the chance to eat somewhere else instead of waiting almost 2 hours to get something in our stomach. Hopefully they implement a better and organized system especially for those that booked reservations.

I found Grand Vin on Instagram a few months back and let me tell you - that is quite the social media team! Seeing their dishes, cocktails, and specials in my feed was my constant reminder to make a reservation! My boyfriend and I found the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with the $10 cocktail specials, steak, arugula, pear and prosciutto salad, tuna tartare, the Purple Rain, and more! It was all perfect. The ambiance was romantic, rustic, and incredibly comfortable and charming. Thank you so much for living up to our expectations, especially from just an Instagram follow! We will be back so many times.

Sad to to see Grand Vin go down hill. A long time customer. The food portions have decreased and gotten worse, and prices have increased. Same good and fun atmosphere and good service, but was bummed about the quality of the food.
Example to highlight: their GV chicken used to come with a large pasta and a large mozzarella ball, now… it is just the chicken.

Grand Vin is awesome. The cozy yet elegant ambiance, outstanding food, and extensive wine selection make it a must-visit. Their homemade pasta is a standout, and the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Whether for brunch, dinner, or just a glass of wine, the service and experience are always top-notch. My daughter and her fiance had their engagement party at Grand Vin July 2024. The party was the entire front bar section, and no worries about the more formal restaurant section in the back; everything flowed perfectly. Family and friends, party of about 50. Extremely accommodating staff, great and friendly bartender, good food, and an overall great time! If you have any kind of party to celebrate in Hoboken, do not hesitate to engage Grand Vin and have the time of your life, we certainly all did!
I don’t often leave reviews, but had to share my exceptionally disappointing experience. We came as a party of seven with a reservation and there were only 3 tables seated when we arrived, not particularly busy. The food was good, but the service was poor. Our waitress, a curly-haired brunette girl, was rude from the start. When we asked about possible availability for a larger table, she snapped, “We usually fit 8 there.” She was also unhelpful with wine recommendations, her only response being “it depends what you like” and provided no recommendations. When the wine arrived, she poured and then loudly put the wine bottle down on the dining table. Our mains came way before we finished appetizers, and she cleared entree plates while we were still eating.
The issues continued with dessert. She repeatedly asked if we wanted it, and when it arrived, she (visibly) reluctantly brought plates and spoons for sharing, then presented the bill before we were halfway through. Maybe she was having a bad day, but despite the food being fine, the service made for a frustrating experience in the mere ~90 minutes we were there.
