Octopus was good, the shrimp was okay, the lobster ravioli and lamb were awful. Service was fine. I won't return. Awful value.
Well lets just say that they stated Baby back ribs on the menu and served short ribs 😔. This is actually a common practice for restaraunts trying to mislead people and scam them with cheap ribs. Before i made this review, i waited a while to write this without emotion. Now for the rest of the food. It was $100 before tip for the swordfish, bacon wrapped scallops, baby back ribs, and 1 drink. Overpriced for the overcooked food. I asked two different people at the resteraunt if these were spare ribs. They both stated fiecly these were baby back ribs. Look at the photo and you tell me. I make spare ribs all the time. I make baby back ribs all the time. It was just a disappointment that we were misled about the ribs. The entire atmosphere was odd. Upon walking in, i asked another table about how the food was. They said they only had the appetizer and had waited 30 minutes so far for the rest of the food it did not look busy like other places. We actually were served everything fairly quickly. Swordfish was very dry, scallops were so tiny and very rubbery. And the ribs were overcooked. Anyway. Would i eat here again? No. Would i recommend this place? No. The server was great, but he also stated those were baby back ribs. It was a bar and sitdown restaurant. Quiet enough for a date atmosphere but also lively.

The food was really disappointing—possibly the worst paella I’ve ever had. It lacked flavor, and none of the ingredients seemed fresh. The service, however, was good.
I really wish I could give a higher rating, but having the owner and his friend constantly smoking cigarettes next to our table was disgusting.
This isn't 1995 anymore.

Lola's has been a Hoboken favorite for years & the food always delivers! Love the ambiance too
If you’re craving authentic Spanish tapas, Lola Tapas is the place to go! I recently visited, and I have to say, the octopus was absolutely incredible—just like something you’d find in Spain. The freshness of the seafood was evident, and it was cooked to perfection. Tender and flavorful with the perfect char, each bite was a reminder of my travels through the Spanish coast.
The seasoning was spot on, with a beautiful balance of smoky paprika and a touch of olive oil. It was simple yet packed with such rich flavor—exactly what you want from a great dish like this.
Beyond the octopus, the whole experience at Lola Tapas was fantastic. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy yet lively, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or a special date night. The menu offered a great variety of other dishes, from crispy croquettes to savory chorizo, but that octopus? It stole the show.
Highly recommend for anyone who wants to indulge in an authentic Spanish meal right here in town. Can’t wait to go back!

Restaurant was completety empty, but servers were very friendly which I appreciated until I found out they snuck in a lobster to our seafood paella order and charged extra when I clearly asked for the regular one 🤨 like why do that to customers when we could've walked away with an okay impression?
Went after seeing positive reviews but only the octopus was good/dishes were dusty bc there wasn't enough turnaround.

I’ll say this, the octopus was delicious and generally I’m not the biggest fan. Extensive menu, unique decor. Well worth a visit.

Lola's is a great restaurant with a wide range of delicious choices. We started with empanadas and the oysters so good. I had salmon, my husband had short ribs and our friend had a scrumptious chicken dish. We all thoroughly enjoyed trying each others dishes. We are never disappointed going to Lola's and highly recommend it.
This place is amazing. It’s underrated, one of the best spots in Hoboken

Windows were widely open, fresh air! I liked the cozy atmosphere and not too loud music. Must try: Salpicón de mariscos, and Black Paella!!
Nice family dinner for my Mother's birthday. It was quiet and we were all able to talk. The octopus was solid as well as the shrimp in garlic sauce. The drinks were excellent, especially the pours. The staff was very attentive and especially with bringing out a dessert to sing "Happy Birthday" to my Mother. Overall, a very nice time there.
I discovered this gem thanks to the glowing reviews—and they were absolutely right! Every tapas dish I tried was better than the last, from the tender octopus to the flavorful empanadas and the rich black rice paella. The seafood was incredibly fresh and delicious. The service was top-notch—attentive and friendly throughout the meal. And the drinks? Fantastic! I especially loved the mango mojito and the white sangria. A truly amazing find! I will be back soon.
