Word don't do this place justice. Second Street is the BEST of the best. I can't leave there without a couple bag full of their breads, sandwiches, and rolls. A true staple of Jersey City.

This place has been around way, way, way before you were born. Do yourself a favor and get a sausage bread, bring it home, slice it up, warm it in the toaster oven. Slather with butter and mangia! You'll feel like Tony Soprano.

Omg this place is incredible cheap and quality, the bread is fresh and full, even that you get the regular one with $6, and the chocolate bread is so good, like this place is too good for me, I'll comeback everyday !!!!

Old-school Jersey City establishment that stood the test of time and for many great reasons. I love artisanal bread and always search for the best bread. They make a perfect bread for sandwiches. Rolls have a nice chew and cripsy crust but a soft heart and a taste of character (like your classic Jerseysian). This place is overlooked and deserves much more recognition than many places across the river. If you're a carb lover, looking for value, and want to sink your teeth into more than 3 generations of pride and love, this is the place. Had the Meatball sandwich and cold cuts and cinnamon roll. All on point . The sandwiches are always good. They're popular for a reason but don't sleep on the other bread products. "It's a place known for great sandwiches, so why get anything else?" WRONG! Got the cinna bread on a whim, heat it up back home, and wow. New breakfast ritual. Gonna have to try the other breads. The owners are nice and great too. Tip: Cash only, closes on Monday and go early. They close early and sell out early and while it's fresh.

What a place. As good as any deli in Jersey City, a city plentiful with high quality deli options. From what I've gathered, getting there early is the move as they quickly run out of fresh breads and other menu items.I stopped in around 1-2pm, and, despite the limited options, I knew I came to the right place. I ordered a hot pastrami and Swiss sandwich as well as a hot roast beef w/ mutz and gravy. $6 sandwiches! Unreal value. The sandwiches were incredible.I cannot wait to go back in the morning for the full experience. And the woman working behind the counter was a true delight. Older Italian woman, writing down orders with a dull pencil on a ripped piece of loose leaf paper. A perfect, timeless system. LOVE it.

Fantastic breads, baked goods, and sandwiches. The stuffed breads and rolls sell out early so I suggest you get there by 11:30am on the weekends. The pepperoni and mozzarella stuffed bread is the best around. The sandwiches are great too but the stuffed breads and rolls are the star of the show!

Oh what is not to love about this tiny little bakery that's a local favorite? -- I've been coming here since forever and there's not one thing on the menu I wouldn't recommend. go for it ! You will not be dissappointed but get there early, everything sells out.

The store clerk overcharged my teenage daughter for items by adding them on to her purchase telling her her tje total was 7.30 and charged her 17.30. If you use debit pay attention to your total and asks for a receipt
