We visited our friends in Newport last weekend and decided to try Blue Anchor for brunch after seeing its great reviews on social media. The decor is bright and clean, with a beautiful view of the river.
Overall, the food was delicious with reasonable prices and generous portions. Our favorite was the flavorful, juicy burger with perfectly balanced ingredients. The fried cod in the fish tacos was also crispy and satisfying.

Spent en evening with amazing seafood at Blue Anchor. We had ordered Lobster Mac and cheese, sweet Chili calamari and soft shell crab platter. The lobster was AMAZING..... Justin the manager told us that they order fresh seafood from their vendors, we tasted the freshness in our plates. I found a new go to place for seafood 🩷.

Newport is such a lovely place. On Sunday morning, I took a walk by the river and found this seafood bistro right under The Beach. Enjoying brunch with a river view was absolutely relaxing.
We ordered three dishes and I’d highly recommend these two:
Smoked Salmon Benedict – The perfectly runny egg yolk flows down through the crab cake, smoked salmon, and a crispy butter-toasted bread base. It’s the best way to start a beautiful morning.
Lobster Mac & Cheese – So generous with the lobster! Each bite feels like little lobster “popcorns,” and when mixed with the rich, gooey cheese macaroni, it’s double the happiness.

In the chicken and waffles, waffles were really bad, chicken was good. the shrimp and jersey grits were literally 4 pieces of shrimp on top of like one layer of fries. The aperol spritz is made with cava and lime juice ? and the lobster mac and cheese had a good amount of lobster but the mac and cheese itself was so bad 😭 the eggs benedict was good though.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday and was able to grab a table for two without a reservation. The food was good - mostly seafood but some options for vegetarians (the mushroom bao buns were my favorite!) My partner loved the lobster. Good location to walk to on the water path. Nice view.

We went for a team work lunch and it was amazing! The staff were extremely accommodating, had great service and the food was amazing! We ordered the quinoa bowl, scallops, crab cake, salmon burger, and veggie sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meals and service. Highly recommend!

I have dined here now on three separate occasions. Each time the staff has always been extremely attentive. I have never had to wait long at all on being sat, receiving cocktails, or receiving apps/entrees. The GM is incredibly kind and visits all of the tables to ensure everyone is having a great experience. This last time he even brought over some complimentary pumpkin spice shooters for my friends and I to try. The main thing I must say that I am always continuously impressed by is how unbelievably fresh the seafood always is. The new sushi menu is a must try!

Went here for a drink outside and service was terrible. No one looked in our direction for the first 15-20 minutes of being seated. After ordering our drinks, we were not checked in on by the waitress until we asked for the bill. Once the credit card charge posted on our account a few days later, we noticed that someone at the restaurant changed the tip on our receipt (which is illegal) and gave themselves a tip of over 20%, which we did not leave. Do not go here
