It’s an OK breakfast spot. Staff isn’t very lively and not a lot of options. Cute spot and great for a quick bite. I like the area to sit if you need to get some work done

GOOD LOCAL BAKERY. Small spaced. A few options of bakery, not a lot but they are of high quality. A chocorate crossaint will run you $6.50. A small Americano at $4.30. The staffs are always kind and helpful. Great to stop by after borrow a couple of books from the near by library. Just wished the bakery was a little more affordable in terms of pricing.

I got a sandwich and a coffee. The sandwich was hard and cold, a ham and Swiss on baguette. It was also tiny, and 12 bucks. No flavor and super hard. My coffee was a mocha and it tasted like a plain hot latte with burned espresso. Not good at all. Three of us went and all three threw our drinks away on the way out without drinking them. I got a mocha, they got a hot chocolate and a regular latte. Customer service was alright, not great but not the worst. We were only there maybe 10 minutes total and two homeless people came inside asking for money. Not a great experience overall and do not recommend. There’s plenty of options nearby!!

The food is okay. Customer service is bearable. Terrible patrons though, working from home at the cafe, but shushed at my 3 months old baby when he’s cooing, not even crying or screaming. The same person, middle aged white woman, had her shoes off and put both feet on the bench. I wouldn’t visit again.

Kid-friendliness: not kid-friendly at all.

Went in for two drinks and a chocolate croissant.

Drinks were not very flavorful for the price. For being chocolate oriented, it felt like there was hardly any chocolate in my hot chocolate and mocha.

I was the only customer and the barista still forgot my chocolate croissant. I had to remind then about it after they stepped away from the counter and when they returned they were going to give me a normal croissant.

They have an awful service, I placed my order they run out of the items I ordered then they called saying they will cancel my order and give me a refund and I have not received it yet it's been weeks now! What am I a charity? Give people back their refunds or send them what they ordered!

I had such a great first experience at Choc O Pain! I went during a busy time and it was still an amazing experience. Frankii the manager was delightful and this place has good vibes. She recommended some amazing choices that I will definitely be coming back for the croissants!!! 10/10

I’m finally moving on from this place after buying my coffee there nearly everyday for the past 9 years and before that for 5 years in Hoboken. Chocopain still has one of the best coffees in town but after buying one this afternoon and spilling coffee down the front of my jacket because they insist on purchasing defective cups, I’m done. I have ruined white t shirts and workout shirts because of coffee stains and I’ve reported the issue to them multiple times on Facebook- with pictures- and saw Chocopain make zero attempts to rectify. The coffee is good but not worth dealing with a leaky cup issue they’ve had for years not weeks.

Management is awful. Poor employee is working with a mask on while sick, handling food. He was a sweetheart, but I’m pretty sure that’s a health violation. And there’s no air conditioning. Apparently they don’t even have hand soap for the employees to wash their hands. That’s disgusting. I wouldn’t eat here if I were you.

I was looking for a GF cake in the neighborhood for my friend’s birthday and discovered this bakery. We ordered chocolate flourless cake and it was just incredible. It was dense, rich, moist and chocolaty. Perfect warm with ice-cream or a glass of full bodied red. I will be definitely offering it again!

Apparently the price of pastries went up but the menu in store is not updated. When I asked about the price mismatch on the menu and machine, the staff seemed impatient and dissatisfied, the service experience was poor.

Good bread and pastries. The baguettes are bit hard and dense. Croissants are good and flaky.

They charged me for a pre-order that was never made and they still haven't refunded me three weeks later. Otherwise, Choc O Pain is a great bakery with terrific breads, pastries, and sandwiches. I've recommended them time and again, but I'll never pre-order from them again. I ordered four tarts online over 48 hours before I needed them. My credit card was promptly charged and I received a receipt via email. Good thing I called to confirm the order the next day, because no one had it and they supposedly "no longer made" the tartes I'd ordered online (the tartes I ordered were being advertised on their site at the time?!?). I was told they'd reverse the charges. They never have. I'd had to dispute it with my credit card company. Proceed with caution when ordering from Choc O Pain. They need to get it together.

For about 4 years I used to buy vegan croissants from them. I have 4 different allergies. To be exact milk, eggs, nuts and fish. This was one of the only shops who had vegan croissants. Nothing else in this cafe is vegan. Never coming back there.
