The absolute best chocolate cake I've ever had. You have to try the Cara specialty cake! The cookie pearls they put inside such a delicious touch. The cakes are on the expensive side but totally worth it. I'm sad they shut down one of their locations, I wish this one lots of success!

Discovered this gem of a cafe/bakery that is much better than Starbucks or Panera in jersey city! I tasted 6 of their awesome truffles/cake pops. They also have more goodies/food including ice cream! Also saw like mini wedding cakes about 6 or 7 inch diameter that are designed so elegantly. I’ll order the mini cakes for my wife’s snd daughter’s birthday next time. So I ask if they have someone who does these and found out the owner is a pastry chef for more than 25 years. And if you’re not a coffee lover like me, they have other options like cocoa drinks that are delicious. Nice corner place with peaceful ambience that you can sit down and enjoy or even do some work or meetings.
Just please put the bag on the table with the cake instead of the floor.

Everyone there is so nice. Their rice pudding is gluten free and soooo flavorful. I'm a huge fan. They also have a perfect key lime pie. Don't miss out on this excellent place!
You know how Hoboken and Jersey City somewhat lack elevated bakeries except Sweet in Hoboken? That's because you haven't been here yet. Awesome stuff. Cakes taste like actual cakes used to, not the lowest common denominator that dominates modern American baking. Great place, no further notes.

The food was great! I bought a pastry and some cookies. I also bought a birthday cake. The reason for 3 stars is because I purchased a vanilla cake, and they gave me the chocolate one. We ate it since it was the only cake we had, but just wish it wasn't chocolate as it wasn't birthday girls favorite.

When I purchased - a custom chocolate cake with: - chocolate mousse, - vanilla buttercream, - and cookie pearls... I was not expecting that it would become an annual tradition!
My boyfriend loved that first cake, saying it is the best birthday cake he has ever had. Since then, I have been ordering the same cake from Cocoa Bakery every year for his birthday and it does not disappoint.
This year, I threw my boyfriend a birthday party. His guests independently said Cocoa Bakery's cake was the best birthday cake they have had as well. Thanks Cocoa Bakery for the consistency!
This year I also decided to ask Cocoa Bakery to decorate the two cakes I ordered. I didn't know what to expect after they said they could match my proposed designs...but what I received was beautiful and so fun! Yes, my boyfriend is an adult man haha, but I love going all out for him with a theme or two...and Cocoa Bakery helped accomplish my visions!!
